Pretty much. Let's hope Shannahan leaves this as a precedent instead of just dropping back to meaningless 1 and 2 game suspensions or $2500 fines again. Of course I'm not holding my breath...

Caps can eliminate Boston at home tomorrow :D :noon Couldn't care less about the Caps, but I'm going to be rooting for them tomorrow since nothing would make me happier than seeing that little POS Marchand on the golf course.

Watch out, he might low-bridge you when you are teeing off. ;)

Lol, I'm not a ginger swede.... I'd hit back ;) I just can't stand players that are dirty for the sake of being dirty. I especially can't stand little ahit disturbers that only do it because they know they've got someone like Charra to hide behind after the fact. As much as I hate Boston as an organization there's very few of their players that I dislike as individuals but Marchand is one.

I know how that can be. I don't hate any of the Canucks as indviduals with the exception of Burrows, Sedin, Lapierre, Burrows, Bieksa, Sedin, Luongo, Raymond, Burrows, Kesler, Burrows and Burrows. ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

Those rivalries can bring on the hate, for sure.

Big difference between players you "hate" but would love to see on your team. Dino Ciccarelli was always one of the former as a Blackhawks fan. Or the way Hawks fans embraced Bob Probert when he came to Chicago.

Guys who are the latter (truly hated) by me over the years include Dion Phaneuf, Claude Lemiuex, Basil McRae, Shane Churla and Roberto Luongo.

Ooooo he gone!
Sharks done. Never really in this from the start and it looked like it.

Congrats to any Blues fans. Clearly the better team. In 9 gsmes against the Blues this year the Sharks won 1. Hope they do a overhaul on this team. Come on Stuart we need you. Wish they had let. Marleau go in the offseason.

Congrats to the Blues.

You can throw at least 20 of them out the window. The game changed when Montreal did not have exclusive rights to every French Canadian.Visitors don't get calls in the Forum, playing with a stacked deck I say.

Great theory, too bad the myth that there was ever territorial rights to draft French Canadian players is just that.. a myth. Every team complains about a lack of calls, ultimately it's just excuses and whining. Montreal's dominance was ended by league expansion diluting the player talent pool amongst a larger number of teams, nothing more.

What a great series, game and first shift by Giroux! Several Flyers had good numbers in this crazy series, but his and Couturier's play really stood out to me.

Hopefully this little bit of time off will get Grossmann back healthy and allow Bryz heal-up if his bone chip is bothering him.

Rare moment when I would help John, but as usual you ignore facts.

Too bad facts get in the way of your version of history. Lets just take one of the Habs greatest who helped them win some of those cups.

So exactly how was someone else going to sign him?

As for the calls I will go with Grapes who actually has NHL experience.

So exactly how was someone else going to sign him?

Wrong. Beliveau's father refused to sign a C-Form, but Beliveau himself did sign a B-Form which gave the Habs rights to his services if he ever decided to play at the pro level. He actually called up twice and played several games for the Canadien's well before his QSHL team was bought out by the Habs, but wasn't sold on the idea of becoming a pro hockey player as a career choice. The buyout occurred to force him to either choose a career in pro hockey or no hockey. Beliveau signed that initial contract with the Habs of his own choice, they forced his hand to make a choice about a pro career and he went on to become one of the greats of the game.

No other team had the right to sign him because HE had already signed the equivalent of a modern day entry-level contract with Montreal. Given that signing the B-Form for his choice this is not even close to being the same thing as the Canadiens having automatic rights to all french players.

Prior to the existence of the amateur draft the Canadiens were given the right to protect 2 Quebec born players per year, that had not already signed a C form with another NHL team. However given that almost all decent prospects were invariably already under C-Form with one of the 6 teams it was really rather irrelevant. The vast majority of the 20 or 30 odd players thus protected never saw a single NHL game except from the stands. Every NHL team had first rights to players within a 50 mile radius of it's rink (ie. basically first rights to it's home city), all other players were up for grabs by ANY team found them and signed them to C-Forms first. The claim that the Habs had exclusive claim to all French Canadian/Quebec players is and always has been BS. The reality is most French Canadian born players wanted to play on the Habs... there's a big difference between the 2 and it hardly equals an unfair playing field.

I'm sure you'll pardon me if I don't even bother watching that. Using Don Cherry as a reference to bolster your support for anything other than bad suits, the Supreme and Enduring Greatest of All Things Bruins (tm) or how Scott Stevens-style hockey is the only kind that matters automatically degrades your point.

Thank goodness the Rangers were up by two, because if that "goal" had tied or won the game ... that would have been interesting.

Too bad they can't review pitchforking the goalie out of the crease.

The Coyotes have a world-class goaltender, and the Hawks have a mediocre one at best. I fear he will be back bewteen the pipes next season though.

I will still watch all the NHL playoffs as I love hockey, but it won't be the same for me.

What a f'n joke of a goal and replay call. Why have rules or the replay if you can't get the obvious crap correct. It was nice to see Neil kissing the ice after a solid shoulder to his mug in the 3rd. WTG, Del Zotto.

I am with you Tom. Bryzgolov was hardly world-class, but he did enough to win game 6 and eliminate my beloved Pens. I don't know how much further the Flyers will go if he doesn't button it up. We have no room to talk though the way that Fluery played. Even if we managed the crazy comeback I wouldn't have had much faith in going deeper with his play along with the play of our defense. Oh well, I'll still watch because I too love hockey.

Guess I'm pulling for the Panthers now...the team that no one seems to care about! :D

Bryzgolov won't get the Flyers a Cup if he plays the way he played against Pittsburgh, teams are sure to tighten up against the Flyers' potent offense.

I am rooting for the #8 seeds now, though I have little hope of either making the Finals. Rooting for the Kings because I don't care for the Blues or Preds, and the Yotes knocked my Hawks out of the playoffs.

Rooting for the Sens because Craig Anderson is a friend and ex-teammate.

Interesting to note that if the Capitals beat the Bruins tomorrow night, the last 4 Stanley Cup Champions (Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Detroit) will all have been eliminated in the 1st round. Welcome to the NHL in the salary cap era.
