I heard some mention of other forums opening up once you hit certain post counts here - is that true (and if so, is that why I can't follow those links)?

It is true after a bit of experience on here you will have further access, it isn't necessarily based on posts though.

Yes I went after the more medium smoke. He said the Don Carlos was more spicy. While I don't mind a bit of spicyness, I opted for the smoother smoke. At $19 I'm not completely willing to experiment with something I am unsure if I will enjoy lol :)
