I like to do it the other way around; buy watch with a bracelet and then buy a strap.

Well thats my point. I have many invictas and are all solid as a rock! This one however is delicate and chincy. I wouldnt use it for any work, just sayin. It WILL break

I agree. My girlfriend's Invicta is heavy and well finished. Surface for surface, it is polished and brushed on par as any big name watch you can mention (at least on her watch); Brietling, Omega, Rolex... It's certainly not one of those watches, but the outside is pretty darn close.

Someone in the watch industry said (for Stainless Steel), that the case, dial and bracelet is about 10% the watch's value. With Invicta, they put in a cheap movement and keep the outside pretty nice.

Do they use the same movement in all their watches or do they have better and worse moevements available? The reason I ask is because they have so many different watches with prices that vary a ton.

I love my Seiko's and Citizen's. I think dollar for dollar, you cannot get a better watch.

Nice watch by the way...

i agree. However the aformentioned watch is not one of those. I rarely come across an invict that is light in weight and Doesnt have a sturdy feel to it. But this is one of them. And it looks like its going to fall apart. And weighs about 2 ounces lol

Someday I would like to have one of these. I am in love with Hamiltons, they make some classy watches:

The white face one is on sale for $322 on Overstock plus I have a 10% off coupon, seems like a great deal:

Hamilton does make some nice watches and they aren't expensive either. They tend to be discounted heavily. Another Swatch Group brand.

What size do you think is best for a case? Around 40-42?
Do they count the crown when they talk about that measurement?

emopunker2004 07-13-2012 05:54 AM

Re: Wristwatch collectors out there?

Depends. If you look on Amazon, if its sold by amazon alot of the waches they show a face next to ruler. They also show some of them on a fake wrist for size comparison. Yeh I like 40-42mm range. It's manly but not huge.

I want this

38-42 is the most classic size for chrono or military. Any larger and it becomes more trendy in styling. The crown is not measured in case diameter.

42mm is a good size for smaller wrists, not too small, but not overwhelming :tu

I snagged a couple super cheap chinese watches just to check out.
Reviews say the Soki is not good and doesn't even have an o-ring or seal.
The Darch is a small face but better made than the Soki.
If the Darch isn't too small for my wrist I may buy a few different colors.
