Last night was homemade barbecue (not true barbecue). Pork loin with Budweiser smokey barbecue sauce in the crockpot for four hours, then the pork loin was taken out and shredded and put back in the crockpot for another four hours. Delicious!

I call it barbecue, but it's more like ghetto style pulled pork. Nothing like good ol' NC and SC style barbecue.

My wife made her own version of Fra Diavolo with Calamari, scallops and red snapper fillets over fresh made pasta!!! The spice in the sauce came from serano peppers I grow in my garden.

Yes my wife is a chef by trade!!! Yea me! That is also why I gained weight in the past year!

I made seared Jumbo Scallops with Champagne-Vanilla butter sauce last night. I was afraid of the sauce breaking, but it turned out great. The scallops were really fresh too. I used a Napa sparkler instead of Champange, but it was good nonetheless.

I'm roughing it tonite!!

Took one can of Hormel Tamales, threw them in a bowl, added some corn chips, microwaved.

Not too bad. Sort of like a Frito Pie.. Next time I will put some mexican blended cheese on them.

We got a new Lil Caesars in town, and I had the craving for pizza, so I had to get a Hot N Ready...goes great with their buffalo ranch sauce

Due to the Superbowl, I ate nothing but appetizers: pigs in a blanket, nachos with dip, crab dip, hangover biscuits, and meatballs.

Tried a new chili recipe from cook's illustrated. Cocoa and lager for flavoring and cornmeal for thickening. I also threw the pot in the oven for the last 90 minutes of cooking. Came out very well.

Last nite was Sushi and Sake at a friends house, then cigars out back next to a roaring fire in the chiminea! Yes it actually got down to the 50's last nite here is South Fl!!!

Made the gf and I:

Some thick ribeyes on the grill- med rare
Fingerling potatoes -salted and steamed
Caesar salad - dole salad kit lol

Drank a fetzer Chardonnay while cooking, and had a bogle Pinot noir with the meal.

Started off with a nice lettuce salad. Made shrimp scampi and tossed in some linguine made from scratch. Also had some leftover shrimp so made up some cocktail sauce for shrimp cocktail. French baguette with brie and strawberries for desert, all accompanied by a couple of bottle of Cakebread Chardonnay.

Last night for a family Valentines day dinner; mushroom risotto, crab cakes, filet mignon with aged balsamic vinegar and asparagus. Pretty good meal!!

Last night for Valentines Day was lobster thermadore, pasta and greens. Accompanied by a nice bottle of French white wine. Dessert at home was a peice of cake, a couple chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne.

My girlfriend made bagel homemade pizzas with turkey bacon, mushroom, spinach, and cheese on top of onion bagel halves. Very good stuff. We finished it off with Blue Bell Mudslide ice cream and homemade brownies. Yum.

This reminds me of the old He Haw "What's for Dinner" bit.
Pan seared Ahi tuna with spicy seasoning and microwaved yams with butter with extra sour sourdough bread and a great Cabernet.
