Congrats on the new watch. That movement looks very odd. Can you get a clearer macro of it?

Thank you, but that's not the exact one in your watch. What I really want to see is the gold weight on the opposite end of the dagger. Yours seems to be countersunk. If that is the case, that is the first Asian 6497 I have seen with this.

The beveled edge on the smaller sprocket is different between both images as well.

Almost looks like the 6497 in the OP's watch has been modified. For what reason I don't know?

I just spent my cigar budget for Feb on a Seiko Black Monster with the metal band rather than that rubber one.

Looks like a pawn shop's watch display!

What are some of your most cherished timepieces in there? It's hard for me to see what is what.

Its hard to belive, but my favorite watch is a 20 year old Timex Triathalon that I wear every day to work. That watch has been so faithfull that I just wear it and never worry about it getting banged up or scratched. I have a 24K gold watch that was given to me for 25 years of service at the Post Office, but I never wear it, I don't want to get scratched. My favorite dress watch is a Roots, its my second one from that company, I just like the way they look and feel.

Alright, so my Black Monster got here today. I decided to skip the instructions and in the meantime nearly ripped off my finger nail trying to pull the crown out instead of unwinding it. Go me. :td

My watchadoo (pictured above) is in the mail and should be here next week.

eBay, that's the only place they're sold. The vendor is called watchadoo.

Thought I'd post this deal here for the watch guys. ((I am in no way associated with BB@B)

While running around yesterday I ran into a deal at Bed Bath and Beyond where they had 8 piece watch boxes with glass top and lock for under 15 bucks. I picked up a few and while they arn't absolute top quality, they are extreamly nice for 15 bucks. Leather bound and will hold watches up to 43-44mm preaty easily.

Happy hunting!

I might have to pick up one of those, I have to return something there today anyways. Thanks for the heads up

Does anyone know a place to get a decent watch winder that will hold a couple of watches?

I looked online and they're over $100.

Hey Darrell,

I'd check ebay, and craigs list to try and catch a deal. From what little I know about watch winders, the cheaper models usually only have a single "speed" setting and tend to get kind of loud over time.

Just something to think about if you plan on placing one on your nightstand etc...
