Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
So I was photographing a wedding this past weekend with some fellow home brewers and the topic of my odd sometimes aweful beers came up. The main one was a Skittlebrau I had made years ago for a Herf in Ohio. (mainly how aweful it was) but it struck some coords and I figured I would try and find those old friends from the time. Old web pages were gone, many better brews have been made since then, many cigars burned, and I had an email from many years ago with a hint of where to find you guys.
So, Icehog, still craving skittlebrau or did we get it out of your system? :) |

i did manage to drink the regular Bourbon County too - it was awesome to have a chance to try either of these at all, and even better to try them side by side. I think in general, 12 oz instead of 34 would be enough at one sitting though ;) Another beer I tried while in Chicago was Uinta Labyrinth. Pretty good too but the GI was better! |
Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
I picked up a bottle of "Big Black Voodoo Daddy Stoudt" at a local spot. Drank it on Sunday and really enjoyed it. I am really digging imperial stoudts right now. Delicious! :tu

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
Matilda is awsome. I do like 312 for a wheat beer. I really like that glass!!!!
Bourbon County Stout & Matilda are my 2 favorite GI brews. |

Re: What beers are you enjoying II?
I love thick stouts and Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is one of my favorites. I always have a few bottles on hand since it's a seasonal beer and I don't get to NY as often as I would like. Always goes great with a maduro.

Always like to have a variety in the fridge. Always like to have a surprise or two when guests come over. Shiner Bock is the standard most of the time. Sometimes you just never know what I'll have.

BTW, that's good stuff. Personally, I would like to fully reveal myself as a poseur by stating that JUST yesterday, and despite my love of stout, I have decided that Delerium Tremens is my favorite beer. It's got all the lip-smacking sweetness and tang of a good mountain dew and the carbonation of a beer. I know it has all the makings of a disaster, I will fall out of love right after stocking up, but DAMN THAT'S SOME GOOD $HI+. |
