Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Wings win, Wings win! Great game gonna be a real tough series. And yes that hit on Juri was brutal. A suspension better be coming. That aside go Wings! |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Suspension should be more than 1 game. The whole year the NHL was talking about hits to the head, and that seemed like a clear intent to injure... Glad the Wings won, though tomorrow I won't be so much of a dumbass with the times. Haven't felt that stupid in a LONG time. |

Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread i missed the hit is there a clip of it anywhere? |

Go to 1:10, and that is where they show it in slow motion. To me it looks like he leads with the forearm, and swings it while hitting. Need more angles to be 100% sure, but based on what I saw, it was an intent to injure. |

The B's got great depth at all positions, and a lot more fire power. The Carolina players were scared shitless of getting hit by Lucic. Staal has been a non factor, he can't do anything against Chara. The key is for the B's to stay out of the penalty box. But this is the playoffs a hot goalie can steal a series. |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Hawks looked great, stole back home ice advantage...Looking forward to Games 3 and 4 in Chicago. John. I know you're a fan, but the 'Canes were "scared chitless of getting hit by Lucic"? Seriously, this is the NHL....not too many "scared" players out there. Look for Carolina to make a series out of it. ;) |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread well apparently you didnt watch the sharks series. We have more than enough scared players for the whole league. |

Got to wonder. I would not mind seeing him go. I got to imagine there will be a few guys on the market. Those that dont move will likely be on the shortest rope imaginable. |

Carolina has their hands full... but it was only one game. I think the Hurricnaes have a shot if it goes to seven. If we want the Cup, we have to beat the best. I am expecting a better game from the 'Canes tonight. :ss |

I wouldn't mind seeing him go at all, and would rather see him go before Marleau. I think Marleau plays to his ability in the postseason, while Thornton has the potential to completely change the dynamics of the game, and doesn't. I also don't see Marleau keeping the C, which I don't think is a big deal for him at all, in fact he would probably rather NOT have the extra pressure. That first overtime for the Wings/Ducks game was exciting. Refs kept their whistles in their pockets, but that is expected. I can't believe the Ducks are getting so outhit. Wings did prove my point to go high on Hiller though. |

Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread What a disappointing day here in Detroit to lose in the 3ot to them ducks. its not over though!! |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread I think James was going to the Wings game today, tough way to lose 6 periods in. The Wings will need to steal home ice advantage back in Anaheim. |

Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Quote:
The only 6 period game I ever attended resulted in a Hawks loss, obviously many years ago. They cut off beer sales halfway through the 2rd period, so by the 3rd OT I was just ready for it to be over, win or lose....of course, that game was a 7:30 start, so it was a bit later. The Wings will get it back Tuesday. :tu |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread I thought the Wings outplayed them completely in the OT, as well as during the 3rd. Ward just made a series of 3 amazing saves during a power play! Bruins have seemed flat today. I would say this isn't a good thing for the Bruins, as it gives Ward, and the rest of the Canes a lot of confidence. |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Ward was amazing on those saves! :tu |
 Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread 6 on 4, Boston's last chance tonight. |

Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Canes played a heck of a game. |

 Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Yup....'Canes didn't look "scared" tonight. ;) |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Great win for the Canes. Managed to shut them out, and seemed in control for the parts I saw. Can't wait for tomorrow's game! Hoping it will be another exciting one, and hopefully with the same result. |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread 3 of 4 series split at 1-1.....some great hockey being played right now. :tu Hoping the Caps can buck the trend and go up 2-0 tomorrow. :) |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Cam Ward stoned us tonight, The Bruins did not bring it the first two periods. The B's got to crank up the intensity like they did in the third. |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Ward stood on his head in the 3rd, the Bruins were relentless. Should be a great Game 3. |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread He sure did stand on his head. Ward played awesome. Canes could steal another series yet! |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread The B's took them to lightly, everything has been to easy. Tonight was a wake up call. |
Re: NHL '08- '09 Thread Quote:

Ward did play an amazing game tonight. If he can do that again the series will go 7 and I give the nod to the canes. Time will tell though. |

Hope you got some good seats, Tom. The Hockey just keeps getting better and better! Everytime I think I have seen "the greatest play" of this postseason, something else happens that makes me say "wow." Looking for the Hawks to dispatch the Canucks... because they are the only team from the original 6 I want to advance. :r (Certainly not the Bruins!) :D |
