He is a coward, I can't tell how many times he makes someone *think* they are going to fight and he tries to skate away like he did nothing wrong.

Watch how he handles himself in this video, cheap shots to start a fight, then he just turtles and pretends he isn't fighting until he thinks he has an advantage and then actually pulls a take-down on the ice. No one does that. Except him. The day he retires will be one of the best days the NHL has seen in years.

Yea, I hate dirty cowards. And he is the worst.

As you are a Pens fan I was wondering about your view on Cooke. Honestly Avery is a dirty POS but I think Cooke is the biggest POS in the league. Cooke runs around the ice hurting people. On Saturday Cooke stuck the Leg out on Ovi. Tonight he drills Tyutin from behind. Possibly ended Savards carrer now. This video by Grapes shows Cookes history. The guy is Dirty then Avery and I think the league will be a better safer place when hes gone. He is one of the reasons the headshot rule was changed. Yeah he is a huge POSHHHHHHHHH!T As much as I dont like Avery I think I would take him over Cooke.

This was last year and he has had some questionable hits since then and some attempts to injure.

I got no problem calling out Matt Cooke for his dirty hits. Those last 2 you mentioned were weak though by comparison to some of Cookes previous infractions. He now has a rep, just like Avery where he can be baited into a call. Ovechkin had his knee out just as much as Cooke, (don't wanna get started on how dirty Ovechkin is) and Tyutin actually saw Cooke coming and turned his back.

A 'dirty' player gets what's coming to him. Cooke gets his azz handed to him time and time again for what he does, Avery cries and runs to the bench. That was the point I was making about Avery, what a coward he was.

I know tyutin knew he was comming, but all Cooke saw was numbers and if you watch the hit he could have glided in and tied him up. He instead goes in full speed, leaves his feet and launches him into the wall. Its just typical of him and why he is so hated. Given he has injured a lot of players with knee on knee hits many of them stars he clearly has no conscience to continue to try.

While I agree Avery is dirty and runs and hides Cooke is so much worse because he is out their trying to end peoples carrers. He has destroyed a lot of players knees. Constantly dlgoes after peoples heads and appears to now have ended a carrer prematurely and been one of the primary reasons a rule was created to protect players from his tactics. Avery is not as dangerous and in my opinion evil as Cooke. Avery pulls bitc& moves and punks guys.
Case in point who in the hell would deliberately kick at a players neck? This guy needs to go and is in my opinion more of a detriment to the league then Avery.

WOW Mike. That is nuts. Intentional blindside headshots and knee to knee hits are terrible. Trying to kick a guy in the throat with the blade of your skate is friggen psychotic.

See the difference is Cooke dishes it out, AND takes it. Avery would never fight Kane, he would get to the bench as fast as he can, or hide behind a Ref.

Dustin Brown doesn't have a rep as a dirty player but he totally elbowed Cooke in the face. Is he any better than Cooke? Kings fans love DB, and Pens fans love Cooke.

No one likes Avery.

As Don Cherry pointed out Cooke only goes after non fighters and stars. Dont give me that he takes it stuff. He doesnt go after tough guys because hes scared. He is the guy in the league with the rep for trying to constantly hurt other teams star players. He earned that rep over his carrer. The guy goes after peoples knees and gives blind head shots. DB took him on head up, but he did get an elbow up yeah. Was he settling a past score? Very possible given how many seasons he has cut short with his crap. To compare Dustin Brown to Matt Cooke the biggest cheapshot artist is just silly.

I brought it up because you have this huge issue with Avery for being a punk and want him gone. No one will argue Avery is a punk. Yet Cooke who has deliberately injured many players is not as bad? Or Brown is as bad? Not a chance and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks Avery or Brown come close.

As Tom said I would be happy with 40. I dont think his style of play benefits the league in anyway. He hurts the league when he injures good players with his cheapshots.

I didn't bring up Avery, you did. I just responded to your post regarding Avery. I also didn't bring up Cooke, you did.

Brown did the exact same thing that many 'dirty' players do. He just did it to Cooke so it wasn't 'as bad' in the eyes of the NHL and the fans. I know Avery isn't going anywhere, and neither is Cooke.

If the Rangers were your favorite team you would love Avery when he plays hockey and hate him when he does the silly stuff. Same with Cooke.

(EDIT) I sure hope you recorded that Boston game. That was about the craziest thing I have seen this year...great game!

I did bring up Avery and never said I didnt. I did becasue hes an asshat. I just found your rant on Avery interesting given to me Cooke is the worst in the league. I dont think many would find concearn in seeing Cookes knee injured given how many guys knees hes trashed. Edit( heads hes hunted, guys hes hurt boarding etc) So you got me there. I cant say if I would or would not like Avery. Pests are tough to hate when they are your pest. We got Nichol who is a pest, but not on Averys level and no where near a Cooke. I can say I dont like Cooke and would not like him if he as a Shark. I cannot be a fan of a guy who trys to hurt people. Your son plays and my son just started. I cant appreciate anyone who plays like Cooke and fear my son or anyones son running into a kid like that on the ice. Its just bad for the game.

I didnt record it and I am pissed good night the youtube clips are beauty. I am hoping it gets replayed as it sounds like an instant classic.

Look at a Red Wings game. I swear they keep the camera angle purposely away from the stands because if it's not a playoff game that place is half empty.

I was at the Wings game Monday and there was barely any empty seats. I just checked the attendance for the last 3 home games and they all were sellouts. Granted ticket sales and who shows up at the game is not the same but I think that is what all teams face. From my experience it is difficult to get tickets to games especially against rivals/original 6 teams/Divisional opponents. Wings also lead the NHL in away attendance. http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance

Kind of Sucks though Sharks maxium capacity is 17,500 So even if they sold out nightly they couldnt be near the top. They are close to selling out nightly. And often break the 17500 number with packed suites.

Man the Hawks lost three forwards in the game and were outhit 35 to 13 at one point. Stars win to take back over first in the pacific. With the recent injuries worried about the Hawks making it this year,

Sharks go down to the Hot Jersey Devils in a close one.

Bertuzzi had 2 goals in a 6-1 slaughtering. Wings got off to a fast start which really helped them out. I think one of Bertuzzi's goals or maybe Zetterburg's they shot it off Raask from behind the net to score.

Should be a good game. Tim Thomas will be in goal instead of Raask. Hopefully we'll stick it to your team again :xxx :xxx

and can someone please explain to me again why the NHL schedule is not exactly like the NBA so we can actually play the Original 6 games every year?

What a strange game last night. I enjoyed the comeback win, but the Stars slow start over the last 5 or 6 games is foreboding.

Turco will always be remembered in Dallas for being an all-star caliber goalie his first 5 years or so. The last two years weren't as hot, which is what ultimately led the team to decline to resign him. I kept thinking that if we got to a shootout the Stars would benefit from knowing Turco so well. It seems that played out.

I've seen the Pens play quite a bit this year, but haven't seen the Isles play once...not sure of their previous match-ups this year, but the Islanders looked like one heck of a dirty team. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it just looked bad, instead of old-time looking. :2

One of the Islanders (Blake Comeau) took what the Islanders thought was a questionable hit in their previous matchup, Sean. Comeau finished that came but subsequently came down with concussion symptoms that the Islanders blame on the hit by Maxim Talbot....that is why Talbot seemed to be the target of most of their nonsense.
