Re: iphone 4 just announced.
Well, I am officially on my 4th iPhone 4.
First one was not Apple's fault as I took it for a saltwater swim. Number two had a bad mic for the video. They immediately replaced it. No questions asked. Number three just went south on me. Home key was not responsive at times for the past few days. Apple haters will laugh and ridicule this product. I say it shows the great support that with any issues, nearly a year after its release and purchase, I keep getting new phones after nothing more than a call, a restore and a trip to the local Apple store, which is something that to me is like a kid in a candy store. My view is chit happens. When it does, is there someone there to help you clean it up. Apple is there for me for sure. Man I want to grow up to be like Steve.:D On with the lovers. On with the haters. |
Re: iphone 4 just announced.
Myles, you are correct about the unlock, tho I never mentioned it, I suppose I should have. I was just trying to get the JB out to the peeps that were waiting for untethered on 4.3 or 4.3.1.
I'll take a look at fakelockup. Never heard of that one before. :tu |
Re: iphone 4 just announced.
Ok. Got it. Things are much faster. Thank you!:tu

Re: iphone 4 just announced.
it's all good :) and its fake clock up (one word) as in fake overclocking, but it really works.

Re: iphone 4 just announced.
Got barrel already. Love it.
Got gravity. That was cool. Got the infinite dock thing. That's cool. Got the swipe anywhere to unlock. Awesome. It's hard to remember actually. |
Re: iphone 4 just announced.
my infinidock doesn't work in 4.3. I had to get 5 icon dock in the mean time. You got 4.3?

Re: iphone 4 just announced.
Guys I need some free WiFi on my iPhone. I stupidly upgraded to 4.3.2. I am assuming nothing is out yet for a jailbreak.
How would I go about creating my own hotspot anyways? I have a 3GS iPhone. Also this would be to connect a iPad 1. |

Re: iphone 4 just announced.
Not sure Carlos but apparently there is a 4.3.2 redsn0w jailbreak out already. I just can't figure out how to get the free WiFi

1. Turn on Bluetooth on both your iPad and iPhone. 2. Turn on Personal Hotspot on the iPhone. 3. iPhone should appear in the list of unpaired devices on iPad, pair to the iPhone. Once paired a blue bar will appear at the top of the iPhone's screen to indicate you're sharing the connection. You can only share the connection if the iPhone is using 3G data, if it's connected to a wifi hotspot of it's own no data will transfer (which makes sense since you would just connect the iPad to wifi in that case). Obviously there's also a hit on battery life, especially on the iPhone, tethering via Bluetooth but it actually works very well. |
Re: iphone 4 just announced.
Very cool Geoff, but why hasn't ATT caught onto this already. Seems like an easy way to bypass paying for the service
|
Re: iphone 4 just announced.
If I'm not mistaken, AT&T charges you $20/month extra to go that route.
You forfeit the unlimited data option (if you have it) as well I believe. |
Re: iphone 4 just announced.
Whoa! No thanks on that one. So basically there is no "free" personal hotspot option?

Re: iphone 4 just announced.
rogers has unlimited data for plans with over 1gb of data, our local company MTS is selling plans with 250gb of tethering - even with their unlimited data plan. It doesn't matter for some people who will never use tethering tho

Re: iphone 4 just announced.
I decided to NOT get caught up in alh the hype and anticipation for the Iphone5 and upgraded to the 4 yesterday.
Coming from the original 3G, the leap is monumental, so I doubt I will get too much upgrade fever when the new one is released. I am blown away by how much better everything runs on this than my 3G, which I got $100 bucks for yesterday. |
