We are up right now.. And it needs to stay that way!
I went to the Tiger game in Oakland in May.. I was yelling all kinds of smack to Cabrera about his busted eye.. He did look at me and point while talking to another player.. Man how I love sitting right behind home plate! |

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
Some interesting numbers that concern Tiger and Sox fans:
Since heading into Detroit on July 20 for the first sweep: The Sox have gone 31-26 Record vs. Detroit: 2-8 (lost six games in standings) Record vs. KC: 3-9 Record against all others: 26-9 Games left vs. KC and Det: 0 The Tigers have gone 30-26 Record vs. the Sox: 8-2 (picked up 6 games in standings) Record against all others: 22-24 Games left vs. Sox: 0 On paper, it looks good for the White Sox. However, the game isn't played on paper right?? This was posted yesterday: "The Tigers are now what they have been all year: Good starting pitching, a few fat guys who hit the ball well, and cripplingly horrible defense." Ask me what I think and I'll tell you that I'm starting to remember 2003. I've said it all year, but I still think whoever wins this AL Central race will win by a very small margin, 1 or 2 games at most. I'm glad to at least be worried about winning the damn thing, after all the Sox were picked to lose 90+ games this season and finish last. I'll take this over already thinking about next year. As always, once the post season teams are locked, it's up for grabs by any team. |
Re: MLB 2012 Thread
Not sure if anyone caught the pitching duel between Zack Greinke and Yu Darvish last night. Absolutely brilliant pitching. Both deserved the win.

I see a one game playoff being a real possibility.
Cabrera's not fat, he's big boned! Young's not fat, he's big boned! Prince's not fat, he....oh, OK. :r |

Re: MLB 2012 Thread
More food for thought.. Well, really just comfort for me:r
In 2006, the Tigers lead or were tied for the lead in the division from May 20th until the last day of the season. They lost their last five at home to finish one game behind the Twins. In 2009, the Tigers lead the division by three games with four to play, blew it to finish in a tie with the Twins and lost the one game playoff. Jim Leyland was manager of both of those clubs. |
Re: MLB 2012 Thread
In 1971, the Sox dropped 11 of their last 15 games.
Is that scary? Yes. Is that true? I dunno. Is it relevant? Not even a little. :D |
