Very nice Al! :tu

Re: First Firearm Thread.
I agree! Awesome piece Al. I have never had the opportunity to shoot a 1911 style gun I have wanted to but just not been lucky enough to.
On another Note I picked up a Glock 27 yesterday to get geared up for my CWP :wo |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Al, how'd you manage to get the Kimber in Mass ... private sale?
I'd love to pick up a 1911, but options are limited here. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I freakin love that Kimber. Rolls Royce of handguns right there.
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
That first pic is great, I'd love to have one of each :)
On a related note, albeit the opposite end of the spectrum, this was my pick up today: http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2213401_n.jpg 1943 Izhevsk M91/30 |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Just bought me a Ruger LCP .380
I have wanted one for a while and just decided to buy one on the spot while looking for a holster for another gun. I love the LCP because it is so compact it's like you don't even notice you're carrying it. I'm finding myself not carrying more and more because it's not comfortable to do so...and that's not good. I know it's a smaller caliber but it's better than not carrying at all. My next purchase is gonna be a nice .45. I would love a Kimber but also really like Glocks.....especially the price. We'll see. Anyways....this thread needed a bump :banger |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I was f'ing around with the camera today and took this shot that I really like.

My new shotty. Mossy 590 A1 9 shot
I replaced the forend with an ATI forend/picatinny rail and attached a LED light. Ordered a single-point sling from Wilderness http://store.thewilderness.com/index.php?cPath=72_1_8 Last thing will be new ghost ring sights and I'm done with her. http://www.cfrhn.com/CA/images/590.JPG http://www.cfrhn.com/CA/images/590_1.JPG http://www.cfrhn.com/CA/images/590_2.JPG |

Looking through these I got some ideas for pics.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Very nice Ryan! :) Which brand of AR is that? I can't tell if that is a 16 or 20" barrel. I am going to guess a 20". Also, is that a Hogue oversized rubber grip?
Is that a GLOCK 27? |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Sorry, I re-sized the pics and they ended up smaller than I thought. It is a G19.
As far as the AR goes, it is something I put together. It is an LMT 16" carbine Upper, i then got an LMT lower, with their part kit. Kit included a two stage match trigger, and the Hogue grip. BCG is also LMT. The rail system is a MI extended carbine Free Float, and the BUIS is the MI same plane. Didn't intend it to basically an MI/LMT build, but those are the parts I got for the money. It is my baby, 1 MOA accurate. |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
I'm looking at getting a tactical shotgun. I originally was looking at Remington 870's but recently have been looking at the Mossberg 500 Tactical Persuader. I can get one for around $450 through an online vendor.
What are you guys thoughts on this gun? |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I have the Mossberg 500 Cruiser and like the feel a lot although I have only shot it a few times.
It is mainly for home defense and looks very similar to this one. http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c...00_cruiser.jpg |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I did a little gunsmithing a couple of weeks ago and made the annoying bolt release on the new 10/22 a proper auto release instead of a cumbersome 4 and a half finger operation. It made me happy.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Nice EBR, shotgun, and G19.
I too have a Glock and I trust my life with it. It is uber reliable. |

I've swapped the trigger in the G19. I put a G17 trigger with a smooth trigger face and a 3 1/2 lb connector. It takes a little of the sponginess out of it and helps it break a little better. |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
I haven’t posted in here for a little while, so here are a couple.
An original Winchester 1897, built in 1897 according to the serial number. It has had a little work done to it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...897/1897-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...897/1897-2.jpg And here is a Cimarron 1866 carbine in 38spl. It has also had a little work done to it as well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...uns/1866-1.jpg |

I like the stock on the shotgun, is it the stock one or "after market" |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
It was refinished, shortened, and checkered when the race job was done on the rest of it.

I'm looking for a good firearm forum. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I second http://www.ar15.com. I actually found this forum from Ar15. just be careful of general discussion on there, it can be very tempting to get involved with some moronic conversations.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
ar15armory.com like ar15.com but without the drama
www.glocktalk.com www.10mmtalk.com Those are some of my favorites--ar15armory being my #1 |

Any recommendations then? either 9mm or 40 S&W are my calibers. It could be worse though. I could have bought the CCI Shotshells.
