Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
The East keeps getting tighter and tighter. Pens rip out another huge win with the Flyers staying close on their heels. The Atlantic division has been stacked all year long and the race to the finish just continues to get more and more interesting. Another big game for the Pens on Saturday as they take on the Devils...
Can't wait for playoff hockey! |

Pens 5 Ranger 2:wnr

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Watched some of the game and I agree. One of the goals both D and I think the center were standing infront of Thomas. Nobody even tryed to stop the player who came in and shot. They looked like statues.
On a positive note the Sharks found their sack last night against the red hot preds. Scarry with the wings in on sat. Babcock was in the press both last night scouting. |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Flames just missed out on a easy chance to keep pace. Playoff hope set to bleak

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Hawks smoke their likely first round opponent 4-1 in Dallas. :)

2nd to 7th
They'll make the playoffs. But if they don't right this ship, it will be a fast track to the driving range. |

Glad the Sharks take the series 3-1 and get desperately needed points against the Wings. Zetterbergs pick on Vlassic right before the Wings second goal was brutal I dont understand why the Wings dont get called for interference on plays like that. Well in the playoffs somewhat. Havlats return seems to have really helped the Sharks. Hope it keeps up. Now in 8th with a 3 games in hand on the Avs |

That was a big loss for the Penguins right there. A big point, maybe two go down the drain.

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Nice to see Hartnell get a face full, anyway.
Doc said today was the 120th anniversary of Lord Stanley donating the Stanley Cup to the hockey champions (24 years before the origins of the NHL.) |
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
At least the Pens got a point. Time to start the streak over again I suppose. I'd prefer a 16 game streak starting in April though :)
|
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Hawks win again and are 7-1-1 in their last nine. Only team hotter right now are the Pens.

Bruins pound the Leafs in more ways then one:sl 8-0 good way to get a jump for the west coast swing.
Next up a desperate for points sharks team should be a good one :tu |

Big win for the Avs, would've liked to win it in regulation though....
|
Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Hawks are 8-1-1 in their last 10, and only 2 points behind both the Wings and the Preds. Heating up at the right time of year, hopefully Toews comes back and is the icing on the cake.

Big game for the Avs tonight...'bout to drop the puck!!!

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
Duncan Keith is scheduled to have his hearing with the NHL today for his elbow to Danielle Sedin's noodle. I am guessing 3-4 games, which may not be a bad thing....little rest and recovery before the playoffs.

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
The initial phone hearing was changed to an in-person hearing so you can bet it'll be more like 5 - 10 games given the circumstances. Of course it's also very nearly the silly season again and therefore time for the NHL to roll out the Wheel of Randomized Justice (tm) in order to dispense completely irrational and total unpredictable disciplinary actions.

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread
went to the Wild game last night. They played like garbage the first half of the game, and were down 2-0, ad being thoroughly outplayed in all facets. Harding was great and kept them in it. They came back and tied it, and won it in overtime. It was hard to not cheer, because this was our view:
