Mets pick up Daisuke Matsuzaka. Alderson...this NOT an improvement in the rotation, but rather a shoring up of sorts. How about some bullpen help?

With several of their starting pitchers undergoing season-ending surgeries or brushing up against innings limits, the Mets on Thursday made a low-risk move to deepen their staff, signing former Red Sox starter Daisuke Matsuzaka. Another over the hill veteran the Mets bring in. :bh :bh

Harvey gave up 2 early runs, and the offense took another day off...mustering only three hits. Scherzer pitched a gem and shut us down all day...11 strikeouts and no runs. Mets lose 3-0.

You called it though, a good performance by Harvey, Mac. Scherzer is just on cruise-control this season.
