Guarantee before the season is over the Mets will have served up dog sh*t as many times as Wade Boggs seved up chicken...

Won't be tonight my friend...as we beat the Braves, 5-3 in 12 innings...to go 14-5, two games better than your hometown Phillies. :D

Tigers were 3 outs away from getting to .500 in game 2 of their doubleheader. 3 lousy outs. :r

I'm taking every win we can get...even if it's against St. Mary's School for the Blind. :D

And, for the record, the Braves are seriously improved since last year.

Bullpen p*sses another deGrom gem away as the Braves walk us off, 4-3.

Mets beat the Cardinals in 10 innings, 6-5...off a Cespedes MONSTER three run HR and a Bruce blast in the tenth. Harvey pitched two innings out of the bullpen...same ole Harvey...GARBAGE!!! Win improves the Amazin's to 15-6.

Mets get skull drug by the Cardinals tonight, 9-1. Matz just doesn't seem like he's a MLB starting pitcher to me...three plus years and he still can't get it right. Drops us to 15-7, still on top of the NL East...but the Phillies are coming up fast.

1/2 game back, yup I'd say so...:r

Re: 2018 MLB Thread

Matz is not a starter - IMO. Problem is, with Harvey now in the pen (he needs to get booted completely), there isn't any more room. Maybe if Gsellman gets reinstated to a SP there might be room for Matz to stay in the Bigs.

kelmac07 04-26-2018 10:03 PM

Re: 2018 MLB Thread

Agreed Dave...we need to cut ties with Harvey. He's been nothing but garbage for the past two years. It's not his pitching that irks me, it's his attitude. Everything was gravy when he was the Dark Knight, but when he started to slip...he couldn't handle that side of it. GROW THE F*&@ UP!!!

On that note, Lagares misjudges a fly ball and we lose to the Cardinals, 4-3 in ten innings. A game we had won, had only Lagares felt for the wall...instead up jumping. Didn't this guy win a Gold Glove in 2014? Callaway sent him into the game as a DEFEENSIVE replacement for this? LOL!!!

Phillies lost so we're still up a 1/2 game...at least for another day. All in all, if you told me the Mets would be 15-8 with two Syndergaard & deGrom wins and Gsellman leading with three, I would've told you that you were crazy.

Still extremely pleased with my Mets. :D

Tell me about it Dom. Getting SHELLED by the Padres...12-2!!! Thanks alot. At least we cam back tonight and won 14-2.

FYI, I wasn't really hot on Vargas...he will give you innings...but that's about it.

Re: 2018 MLB Thread

Mets lose to the Braves tonight, 3-2. Syndergaard gives up all three runs in the first inning...Braves don't score again. But our offense couldn't get it done. Drops the Amazin's to 17-10.

Not good news. All I can hear in my head is "here we go again". Hoping for the best, as he's been our most consistent starter that past two years.

And we fall out of first place.

Vargas gets ROCKED again as we get swept by the Braves, losing 11-0...second consectutive a** whooping shutout. Harvey gets shelled in another relief appearance. It all started so good.

Mets lose to the Rockies tonight, 8-7. But on a bright note, we are finally parting ways with Matt Harvey. I'd say it was two years too late, but better late than never.

This made me lol.
At least the Mets are learning from their mistakes. Putting DeGrom on the DL is the right move.
The old Mets would've waited for his arm to fall off.
Surprised how fast the sink is shipping, and it'll only get worse if Cespedes hits the DL.

Agreed that putting deGrom on the DL is the correct move. I, too, cannot belive how fast the ship is going down. Bruce signing looks even muddier now...the man cannot produce in NY. He hits one HR in a big spot and then disappears for a month and let's not even talk about his defense in right.

Mets finally win one tonight, against the Reds, 7-6. They tried to give it away though.

Worst thing is that our wins leader is a guy from the bullpen.

Reds are now 8-27. A little algebra says this projects out to a final season record of 37-125.

I was at the Reds game last night. It was an entertaining game, but not the outcome that I wanted :tg

Pretty amazing when you consider the top of the lineup has been ice cold.
Over the current 7 game win streak

Gardner 3 for 21 - .143
Judge 6 for 28 - .214
Didi 5 for 25 - .200
Sanchez 3 for 20 - .150

Stanton hasn't been great but he hasn't been awful either. It really has been the two rooks at the bottom of the lineup carrying the team.

Mets batted out of order in the first inning today. Manager/ Bench coach problems?

The Mets are starting to really suck.
My nephew's tball team might be better.

Thank God they got rid of that washed up bum Harvey.
Not sure what the Reds were thinking.

Torres and Andujar have been awesome, although walker had a massive role last night hitting under 200, cant wait for Bird to come back into the lineup and hopefully stays fit! Tanaka tonight!

Mes may not be able to play defense anymore but he can still hit somewhat.

So there's only a 60% chance of them losing! :D

Tigers are 6 games under .500 but only 3 games back. What a crap division.

NL Central top 4 teams are 1 game apart total. And then there's the Reds. :r ;s
