If you are drinking ANYTHING out of this, you might as well admit to being a pillow biter ahead of time.....:r

I did a search for pillow biter and got this drink recipe from drinkmixer.com:
3/4 oz bourbon whiskey
3/4 oz peach schnapps

Pour the bourbon whiskey and peach schnapps into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, and strain into a powder-rimmed highball glass. Add a twist of citrus fruit for flavor, and serve. :r

Well I have news for you...article pictures notwithstanding, Manhattans aren't served in those. (They're served in "old fashioned" glasses, with lots of ice.)

And your obsession with issues of "manliness" is troubling...have you considered professional help? :D

I stick to drinks with the ingredients in the name: rum and cola, canadian (yeah, yeah, they got something right) whiskey and cola, vodka and energy drink, vodka and cranberry, beer, etc. :tu

Much beyond that, like the list, just gets me confused

And I quote.....

Quote:

A Manhattan is a cocktail made with whiskey, sweet vermouth, ice, and bitters. Commonly used whiskeys include rye (the traditional choice), Canadian, bourbon and Tennessee. Proportions of whiskey to vermouth vary, from a very sweet 1:1 ratio to a much less sweet 4:1 ratio. The cocktail is often stirred with ice and strained into a cocktail glass, where it is garnished with a Maraschino cherry with a stem

My dad drank Manhattans. I drink Manhattans. You don't like it? Burn in Hell.

chuckles at the whole thread.

For many different reasons.

Having testosterone doesn't make you manly, neither does a cocktail, the glassware it is served in, (within reason, of course), or your profession.

That being said, I think the main list is amusing, having mixed and served my share of cocktails, (those that get their wrinklies all tightened up can supplant the word drink if they feel the fortitude) for a living, albeit many years ago.

BTW, in my opinion, I call BS on 11, 8, 7, and 5. Not classic cocktails, either marketed to heathens like Tom ;), or annoying frat boys. I might give #5 a pass if it's really good orange soda. :D

I had a Manhattan last night with a bourbon chaser. It was a rough day.

In my world a Snake Bite is 1/2 Jack Daniels, 1/2 Tequila, and it feels like the fangs sick in somewhere behind your solar plexus. I'm not familiar with Yukon Jack but what kind of snake has fruit juice in it?

Gin and Juice has been my drink of choice the last while. It certainly gets the job done. :)

Re: The 11 Manliest Cocktails In The World

Yukon Jack is a whiskey and honey based liqueur, the original snake bite was YJ and Lime Juice, drank as a shot.
