Mets take down the Padres 11-2 in the season opener. :wo :wo :wo With our offense, I thought it would take two weeks to score 11 runs. :r :r Savoring this one!!

Cubs Win, Cubs Win!!!!!
Anthony Rizzo hits two run shot on the first pitch he sees in the first.
Cubbies beat Pirates 3-1, should've been a shutout but Carlos Marmol about choked the big one in the ninth.

Problem is we are use to it and there ain't a pitching coach in all of baseball that can fix him. Plus I'm not sure if there's anyone with the Iowa Cubs that can replace him yet.

Verlander got his first opening day win in 6 tries. Sounds strange but it's true. Go Tigers!

Houston's entire payroll is less than the salary of A-Rod alone. So, technically yes but not really.

Well, not the start I was hoping for with the A's. First two games and they have 1 run total. Bats are not doing anything for them. 6 hits between the two games as well. That part needs to wake up and help the D out.. Just a bit.

Twins have game No. 2 today. Have a feeling it's going to be high scoring. Kevin Correia is not impressive at all, and the offense should be better today seeing as they aren't facing Verlander.

Nope. 2-1 Tigers after 7 1/2.

Benoit coming in for the bottom of the 8th, Tigers fans, fasten your seatbelts. :hn

I try to keep a level head throughout the season, and I know it's only 2 games, but the Yanks look dreadful!
If they keep playing like this, maybe the manager will get fired! (silver lining)

More like Austin Jackson and Andy Dierks decided to hand my favorite team a much needed win.......and I thank them for it. :noon

So much for offense. Our team is opposite of what myself and everyone else expected. That might have been Correia's best major league start.

Not sure it's gonna get better anytime soon, Tom.
Reports are the Tigers are bringing Valverde back on a minor league deal.
I really expected the Tigers to reach out to the Redsox this spring and snag one of their closers.

I wonder if you'll take that back once the hitters get their timing back.....Pitchers have the upper hand early in the season. However, this first series, the pitching staff for the Twins as a whole has really surprised me.

True.

From the few innings I seen, Verlander didn't look as good as he normally is.

He had one bad inning (not unusual for him early in games), then shut the Yankees down for the rest of his day. Tigers bats just couldn't give him enough help, Garry.
