a) there goes the food stores! b) holy crap the smell! Overall, a good intro. Clever with the one woman using the armless zombies as pack mules. Would have liked to see a little more backstory on her, and what the other girl's problem is (more than a simple case of the flu). When Hershal got bit I automatically thought "well, he's dead". Then I was waiting for the usual cry and moan show while the daughter sobs over her daddy, he begs em to make it quick, someone like rick steps up to knife him... I was pleasantly surprised to see the new twist on things. :tu |

I don't know if Rick was using that hatchet to kill Zomibies with prior to hacking off Hershel's leg or not??? Doesn't seem to matter much, arrows are safe to kill Zombies with, hunt with, and use as eating utensils. :r |

So where does that leave the infection mechanism.... drinking spatter isn't enough to turn you... but a bite or scratch is... ... I think sometimes in a good show, the producer has to ignore certain aspects in order to focus better on other ones and deliver good television. |
Re: Walking Dead Season 3
Maybe, Francis.....Or maybe since it is a show about dead people actually walking around eating brains, one has to suspend their notions of logic and rules in order to just enjoy the show. ;) :r
|
Re: Walking Dead Season 3
But I enjoy the show (and tv in general) specifically because I can apply a certain amount of logic and reason to it and see it as a possible (alternative) reality to our own. Yeah, its entertainment... but it's also a fantasizing escape, a "what if X were true" moment... but that only works in small doses, enjoyable entertainment typical only bends A FEW rules of reality, and leaves the rest untouched so the audience can successfully relate to the show and invest in its characters. Bend too many rules of reality, and the audience feels like they're watching a bad acid trip.

Re: Walking Dead Season 3
Fair enough, Francis, although I must qualify by saying I haven't been on an acid trip since college. :)

Holy Sh!t what an episode, I literally had to exhale when the commercial came on after Ricked iced Tomas and sent Andrew out on his own. Little Carl I think is going to grow up to be badass....just like his ol' man eh? SPOILER Anyone who read the comic think the actor playing Tomas could have easily played the "villian" they encounter from the other "society" (He was the one who kept the little girl zombie and raped her...if that helps your memory) just put an eyepatch on him and done. END SPOILER |
Re: Walking Dead Season 3
"Yeah, I get it. Sh!t happens."
Giant fist pumps and "hell yeahs!" in the Stolo household after that scene. |

Re: Walking Dead Season 3
I'm enjoying this season overall.
Anybody else think that the clearing of the prison is too easy? I know that Herschel was bit, and so was Tiny, but for me, the numbers just aren't there. I expected it to be more overrun, like the school where Shane killed Otis. I liked when Rick killed Tomas, but I thought he was going to put one behind his ear before he opened the double doors. I guess that's the Italian in me. ;) IMO, keeping the two other inmates alive is a liability. I'm sure they will have to be dealt with in the future. |

Damn this just keeps getting better and better! Time to bring in the Governor character now. Anxious to see how that story unfolds.

The wife thing... I don't remember season 2 ending with him being pissed off at her. Maybe I need to watch the last episode again. I just thought this season picked up with a completely different relationship than how season 2 ended. |

Re: Walking Dead Season 3
Fabulous episode!
A bar in town shows the episodes on a projector screen and this week there was about 30 or so folks. The two biggest reactions from the crowd was when Rick iced the inmate w/a machete to the head and when Lori seemingly got bit by Hershel. Anybody else catch a glimpse of Merle in the sneak peak for the next episode?? |
Re: Walking Dead Season 3
I saw that. Was wondering when he'd make his comeback.
|
Re: Walking Dead Season 3
Now the question is will Darryl leave Rick and them or will he fight his brother?
I personally think Darryl will fight Merle and Merle will try to brainwash him to regroup with him and overtake Rick. |

Merle is no walker. He has a knife or a sword attached to his stump, IIRC.

Re: Walking Dead Season 3
I bet it was Merle that was watching Carol from the trees. Carol was practicing the C-Section on one of the walkers.
Merle is back, baby!!! We need more knife prosthetics... |
