Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
Sorry you had to find that, I would be pretty weirded out too! But honestly, who cares what company this was? If he said it was a Liga, would you guys really stop smoking/buying them because of this thread? If it was a Padron, Tat or Fuente, would you really stop smoking them if you found out it was them? Sure I might think differently if it was from a company with a bad rep already, but I really could care less as sh*t happens.

Sorry this had to happen and yep I would be freaked out too.....not only beetles, but now we have to watch out for spiders......man I CANNOT tell the wife about this one heh. |
Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
I told my wife and she freaked out. Guess that's why it's my hobby and not hers.

Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
The spider could have gotten rolled up into the stogie and spun the web after it was already inside. It would have been much harder for a roller to notice that.
Anyone ever hear the estimate of how many spiders we eat while we sleep? I believe it was 8 in a year. It was part of a bunch of statistics that were mostly debunked, but on this one, the expert said the estimate was probably too low. Smoke more spiders! - so you don't have to eat them later. |

Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
Spider webs could improve a cigar. I don't think the spider eggs would though. We have to get a blind taste to make sure, right?

Arr not really i heard a story from some of the army guys i know dunno if its true or not but suppository one of the native spiders in iraq decides to crawl up next to the hatch on his challenger so he knifes it then proceeds to leg it from the tank and up a telegraph pole for the entire base to see. So hay thats nothing if the army brats are terrified of them. |

Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
Okay before anything is said i am done joking on this topic
|
Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
I think the spider part is not the concern...but the twigs are...pretty big miss..
|
Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
Reaver used the word "suppository" instead of "supposedly"
Now, whether or not he did it on purpose is a question. |
Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
I wasn't reffering to what you said haha. I meant his whole post. I can't understand it.
He kicked a Spider onto a Telephone poll to warn other spiders? |
Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
Oh :r:r
If it means anything, I didn't understand it at all either :tu |
Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
Who does???
On topic: The twigs seem to be the worst part. I mean, maybe **** happens with the Spider? |
Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
i think that the spider would not have messed up the cigar for the most part. But the twigs would have changed the whole smoke. As in the burn and i have never tried to smoke a stick anyone want to tell me what that is like lol

So I guess the cigar version of "no stems, no seeds" is "no twigs, no eggs"?

Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
Well they got a few sticks out to me in the mail as well as some swag. Their response was pretty surprised and thanked me for being chill and not freaking out all over the internet. I thought it was a really positive response from them.

Re: Spiders tried to eat my face.
I like spiders, camel spiders especially, but NOT IN MY FREAKIN' CIGAR THANK YOU. That would not be nice to smoke. Not to mention remarkably unpleasant for the spider.
I really miss having camel spiders around. Solfugids are among the niftiest of arachnids to keep, but there are not any in North Carolina. I would pay lots of moneys for the specimen in the photo, though I have to suspect it's a 'shop - that would be a SOUS (Solfugid Of Unusual Size) and a serious collector's prize. Speaking of collector's prizes, I dropped back in mainly to give y'all an early heads-up on some stuff that looks seriously drool-worthy that will shortly be up for auction. But more on that elsewhere, and when I have permission to say more. Or PM me. In the meantime, anyone who has giant camel spiders (alive and healthy; dead specimens are not wanted) is invited to send them over here. I'll be very happy to send some non spider infested thanks your way. Er, do check local legalities before you send anything, though - some countries have unreasonable and silly laws about what species can leave it, even when you're allowed to kill them by the hundreds and leave them on the garbage heap. Grumble mutter Australian venomous snakes grumble mutter. Want and can not have, but the folks over there can do whatever rude things they like with their native wildlife. They just can't ship them to someone who likes and wants them. Fooey. |

Unless you age it in moldy dirt. Seriously, is it just me, or does anyone else taste actual earth in those things? In fairness, the extreme earthiness/dirt taste component is not 100% bad, and there are foods I'd even try pairing that stick with - mushrooms and truffles definitely come to mind. It's just not entirely my idea of good, so I generally pass on the moldy dirty twigs. Er, Gurkhas. Your taste and mileage may of course vary. |
