Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
First time I had a handrolled was actually the first time I had smoked period. And by my lonesome, I've learned quite a few life lessons from that NC Punch Robusto...
#1 Don't smoke on an empty stomach #2 Cigars aren't meant to be smoked front to end in 5 minutes #3 Inhalation, although possible, will put you on your ass if you're not ready for it. |
Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
I don't have a clue what my first one was.
Furthest back I can remember was an El Original Toro Maduro. That was about 5 years ago. |
Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
Oh, there was a cigar when I was a kid, but I don't count that one! First as a serious smoker was (I think) a CAO Moontrance, at a hunting club west of Tuscaloosa, from a stash of cigars my son had.

Romeo and Julieta. Don't remember what kind. Was 10 years ago and an old cuban friend no longer with us brought me into this sick, sick world of cigars.
RIP Lalo, you wil always be missed. |
Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
Mine was a RyJ but I honestly cannot for the life of me remember which, I had to have been about 16 at the time.

Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
Way back in the day I started out smoking Te-Amos and Punch Maduros with the occasional La Unica mixed in. Also when I first started we only smoked once in a while usually when drinking. I was an off and on cigar smoker for a while until about 9-10 years ago I started to really delve into it and smoking more on a regular basis and than the slope struck!:D:r

Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
My first was a La Flor de Ynclan. I got a 3 pack with my first humidor from my wife on Valentines Day 2005

Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
Don Diego Corona Major in the tube. That was in '96. I still like them on occasion with morning coffee.

Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
My first cigar was a Gurkha Legend and it was horrible! I lit it using a BBQ lighter and got a lung full of overheated tobacco on the first puff. I've since gone back and revisited that cigar a couple times and found that it really is a terrible cigar.
My second cigar was a RyJ 1875 Bully, which I enjoyed immensely, although a lot of that had to do with the circumstances surrounding it. |

It was probably a Macanudo that was gifted to me
The first that I actually bought and smoked was an RP Connecticut. |
Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?

Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
Spent my whole freshmen year toking on Black 'n Mild, new kid moved to our floor and was like "Dude, why don't you try a REAL cigar?" and handed me an Arturo Fuente something.

Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
I want to say it was a te amo. Its been over ten years since I smoked one. Kind of wondering what one tastes like now.
Although it wasnt my first cigar, it was the punch rare corojo that got me hooked deep, it was maybe six or seven years ago, still have two left from that original box. |
Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
Some gas station cigar in Germany over 15 years ago.. hell if I remember.. however my first "fine" cigar was an Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva in December last year. :)

Re: You always remember your "first"..or do you?
The first premium cigar I ever had was a Cohiba red dot. I would pick them up on special occasions at B&Ms. The first cigar that got me seriously into cigars was the Acid Toast I was gifted by Taki. While I don't like infused sticks any longer I will always have a certain level of respect for them since they got me involved in this wonderful hobby. I have a picture somwhere of me and my wedding party smoking red dots about 6 years ago, I will have to dig it up.
