And of course I'll be out of town for the draft...:sad
It's a long season, so I'll have to make up ground. Somebody save Joey Votto for me.:D

If I set my pre-draft rankings, but am not online while the draft is going on, will it pick for me based on my preset rankings or will it just give me a bunch of random picks?

It will draft based on your presets. Once alot of players have been taken and it's outside your draft presets I believe it will either start filling spots with the best available or it will just take the best available regardless of position and need.

:tuThanks, David.

I'm in a mock draft right now. That seems to be what's happening in there as well.

Re: Yahoo Baseball 2010

I'll be missing the draft as well. I trust Yahoo! though. I have missed the draft for the football season the past two years, and last year I finished second in my league. I didn't fare so well this year, but that was because I made some huge bad decisions.

I have my top-25 set.

hotreds 03-21-2010 07:37 PM

Re: Yahoo Baseball 2010

I suggest you pick more than just 25 as they could be gone in a coupla rounds. Pick your top 200(even use a magazine or something) so that your choices are made. Or, look at Yahoo's rankings- and if you're happy with them, let Yahoo make your picks.

8 PM EDT tomorrow is the draft. Anybody else having trouble connecting to the draft page?

I finally signed up. Appears we're still one head short.

hotreds 03-25-2010 07:17 PM

Re: Yahoo Baseball 2010

Yup- we either need one more player, or we'll hafta change to only one division.

Draft being tomorrow at 8, if by 5pm we don't have one more player, I'll change the format to one division.

hotreds 03-25-2010 07:29 PM

Re: Yahoo Baseball 2010

Well, turns out we need an even number of teams, no matter one/two or three divisions. So we DO need another player!

Bump for 1 more player.

Would it be easier if I dropped out to make it even? I'm already in 3 leagues, and this would be my 4th.....which is a little much.

If you aren't 100% wanting to devote time, I would drop out :2

Whatever you want to do :tu

I did pretty good for not participating in the draft. I always do better that way, except when Vinnie picks for me.
I looked at the player's bench and there's an awful lot of power left sitting down. Some good pitching help, too. I'm gonna go find some power meat as soon as I can swap out players. :tu

It's a looooong season, Andy. I'm currently in first place, and while that's awesome, I know one thing for sure. Things change. :)
I was like 14-4-2 last week and I think I'm 3-10-7 for this week at the moment.
I went and changed up tons of stuff, and I do that all year long.
If I finish above .500 I'm thrilled. My average goes up every year, and I want to finish above .600 this year, which is really tough. I'm watching ball every day and keeping good tabs on my team to make sure it doesn't slip. It's a lot of work, but I don't have anything better to do. :tu

Scott you may want to check but I think we are only able to make 52 moves during the season.

I wouldn't even know where to look, but you might be right.
We've never had that in our other leagues here in the past, but Hugh set this one up. Hard to tell what that crazy sumb!tch might have done. :)

I'm last in this league, but I'm first and second in the other two leagues I'm in. Three fantasy baseball teams is way too much for me.:hn Fantasy football I could mes with once or twice a week. Baseball is every day.

By moves, I assume you mean drop/add/trades right? Not moves from the bench to active, right?

I've made about 52 moves from my bench to active roster already, but only added/dropped about three players.

There is no max on the number of "active" to "bench" moves you can make.
