How are the Mets looking?
|
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Wright looks good...Matthews looks good...concerned about Reyes and it's too early to call anythig on the pitchers, except Perez...same old Ollie (HEAD CASE).

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
News today...All-Star shortstop Jose Reyes has been told to rest and refrain from athletic activity for two to eight weeks until his thyroid levels normalize, another blow to the New York Mets before Opening Day.
Season hasn't even started and we are without two big guns...Beltran & Reyes. I believe Matthews can hold the fort down in CF, now the SS position...that is an entirely different can of beans. :td |

I'm an Indians and a Cubs fan, I may as well be a Mets fan too! :banger Actually I became a Mets fan as a kid. They were strong in the mid-80s when I was in Little League, my cousin and I traded/hoarded Mets baseball cards, one of their colors is orange (a big deal when you're from Tennessee) and they weren't the Yankees! What's not to like? :r |

I've been super busy at work the last few weeks and unable to post much. We're testing some newly updated software and trying to hammer out all the bugs before sending it live to customer sites. I gotta say, breaking stuff with a keyboard is almost as much fun as breaking stuff with a hammer! :r |
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Good to see ya back brother!! :tu

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Good to be back. Definitely.
I just upgraded my cable package and I'm getting MLB Network! I'll catch my first Spring Training game tonight (Atlanta @ NYY). BTW, anyone interested in fantasy baseball check out this thread: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=28781 |

Seriously though, good luck to Reyes' and his recovery. I know a few people with thyroid issues and it can be very tough to deal with. |
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Maybe there is some bad chemical in the blue & orange that is causing this.

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Mets beat the Cardinals today...6-5. KRod got his first save of the spring & Fernando Martinez is still on fire...took him three years but they, the kid is still only 22 years old. Huge upside for this kid. :tu

I can't believe there are no other Mets fans here. :td Thanks to Keith, Ryan, and Thomas for the laughs. :D

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
I watched a little of the MLB Channel discussion on the Mets and they were doing a good job of sugar coating the injuries they are starting the year off with. Alex Cora the starting SS over Reyes is a huge down grade.

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
I'm a Mets fan and don't even know what to say, I couldn't even watch the second half of last year. i have no idea what the management is doing. I must admit that I haven't been to Citi Field yet. I did go to Shea a couple of times in its last year. I don't like the smell i'm getting from them already. I'll be watching opening day though. Face it, it's been a rough couple of years being a Met fan..I'm sooooo tired of the Yankee fans rubbing it in our face, half them bandwagener's probably weren't around for the yank's glorious 80's
|
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
The Yank's glorious 80's? You are talking about the New York Yankees correct? :r

"New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes has been cleared to resume baseball activities after doctors determined his thyroid levels have returned to normal.
Reyes was diagnosed in early March with a hyperactive thyroid, and doctors prescribed rest and a change in diet. He was told to refrain from physical activity and was monitored and tested weekly in New York." Let's see how long he lasts....that hammy still tweaked? |
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
They say the hammy is fine...we'll see!!!
|
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Over/under May 20th for him to go on DL
I don't really want to take any action on that but I wouldn't be surprised |
Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Right now they need to see if he will be ready for opening day. He is way behind everyone else. It was not just baseball he was not doing, but everything he had to stop doing. He has been sitting in a chair watching tv.

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
lol, just like last year

Re: New York Mets 2010 Banter
Personally, I think the Mets can have an outstanding year. :tu
