Sitting in a hotel on the West side of MI. They have a few inches here, nothing that we aren't already used to. I dunno what they got in Detroit, probably just a dusting.

As for the snow...bring it on. I now have a 3 car garage where my summer ride is comfortably resting for the winter and a new snowblower that needs to be tested out. :D

It may not be as much as some of you guys had, but this is the first time that we've seen snow in december since 1981. We usually get some late january or early/mid february. This is promising to be a long cold winter

I have been thinking about generators like that one, obviously for hurricane power loss NOT snow. Had it long Ron? I believe that could power the whole house.

Going on two years soon. It's a 17KW model - and yes it will run a whole house. Can you turn on everything in the house? No. But it will run a 3ton AC unit in addition to most normal items in a house being on.

It runs on natural gas and comes with the jets to use propane if needed.

Be glad to answer any questions about it. I went with the Kohler model over the other popular and less expensive models sold widely due to how quiet this thing is. With the lid shut and running you can't hear it from inside the house. It sits right outside my office and if I have the window open and nothing else on like the TV or music - then I can hear it - barely.

Pete,
That is the way to go. Natural gas or propane, not gasoline as many are in Florida.
I priced them out down here a few years ago and could do my house with one that would cost me $5K back then. Not sure at all what prices are now but would imagine they have dropped post the surge due to the 2004/2005 storms.

Despite living in South Florida I will have some pictures to post very soon. Why? Because I was in New York City. Our flight was cancelled Saturday evening obviously, but we got out Sunday afternoon. Another night in a suite at the Waldorf, what a shame :D We had fun playing in the fresh snow in Central Park Sunday morning with the locals.

We were in Norfolk for my wife's graduation during the storm - nothing but wind and rain there, thankfully. Still, I'm glad to be back home in AZ today. We moved here to get away from that chit, and being there was just too close for comfort.

I made the fire a little too big. I had to move away from it for a bit. Nothing like sweating when it's freezing out.

It's been snowing for about 2 hours here in Bethesda but it's just now starting to stick a little. It just feels like it's going to snow a ton. Everybody stay safe and enjoy 3-4 cigars!!

I was lucky to make it home the last time I was there back on December 5th. Northbound 270 was completely closed at 3 separate locations as I drove on southbound. Southbound did have several icy spots, but no crashes that I saw during my trip.

Hmmm...

Wife and I have a lot of cleaning to do to have people over on Sunday evening. I'm game though if I can make time and Ron doesn't mind making the drive that will probably end up being two hours.

I think this is funny. Virginia, MD, and such places have had more snow (even Texas and Oklahoma) than we have up here in Northwoods of Wisconsin.

Someone should explain this all to the inventor of the internet and global warming.

Peace of the Lord be with you.
