I went to BB&B to buy one for my folks and noticed they were all pulled from the shelves. The manager said it was due to an issue with the pump.

I'm glad to see the customer service was there...that's hard to find now a days.

Did the machine totally shut off, or just stop brewing? The reason I'm asking is because a while ago our machine started brewing a cup and stoped about half way. When we put the next cup in, it brewed that cup and what ever was left of the first cup that didn't finish...weird.

Yes! Ours is more of a motor like problem. Yesterday, I did clean it out with vineagar/water. Ran fine when I did that part. Later went to make a cup of tea and the problem resurfaced. Took longer to brew. Then it brewed half of what it was supposed to. Hit the button after it was ready again. Brewed fine that time. It's getting quite annoying to say the least. Darn machine is not even 4 months old.

Glad to know we are not the only ones experiencing a problem with it.

just got off the phone with customer service. they are sendingout a replacement, no charge. they dont want the old machine back, just want me to send the little black holder part back to the manufacter to effectively disable the machine. i have a myK attachment, so i dont need it anyway. looks like the old one will go out into my garage"mancave smoking room"

they refered to the problems as "short brew" and "delayed brew"

great customer service, i will say that.

Well, I guess the one good thing is it seems this problem has happened enought that Keurig is prepared to replace the machines and stand by their product. However, I can totally see why you would be mad with your machine only being 4 months old.

Mine totally shut off after brewing 1 cup. quick flick of the on/off switch fixed it but you had to wait fir it to then heat the water.

Everyone so far (including my folks, whom I gifted one last month) that have had their's fail have gotten a new one from Keurig, no questions asked, no "ship it to us and we'll look at it before replacing", no hassle and a couple free boxes of coffee for their trouble. That is all the MORE reason to buy from this company. :2 I have two and I have no doubt that if there is an issue with one or both Keurig will take care of it.

Good point Andrew. Now I need to know if my roommates will destroy this. I know how they are with some of the other appliances that have been purchased. :su

Another source for k cups that I can recomment from personal experience is coffeecart.com. Free shipping at $45 worth of sales and after you buy from them they will periodically email you a code for buy a certain amount and get a box free.

My wife bought me one of these about a week ago. I must say I love it. It is nice to be able to have a pretty good cup of coffee in about 2 minutes and not have to clean a pot.

Definitley a great perk. It's perfect for us becuase we're never on the same schedule so it's rare that I'm going to brew a pot or even prepare a press for just me so we can brew two different cups of coffee at two different times...it's great. :tu

Question for you fellow Keurig owners. What vinegar/water solution do you normally use to clean your machine?

Thanks everyone.

Green Mountain Coffee is my favorite, the Dark Magic specifically.

I go directly to the Kurig Website, as you can build up points for free coffee of even the top shelf brewer.

The cheapest way to buy bulk, once you find your coffee, is the 80ct boxes. My wife and I buy the Paul Newman special blend for about 40 bucks. If you like darker full bodied coffee, look for the "Extra Bold" label.:2

To remove any calcium buildups from the water mainly. I thought I remembered reading there was a certain solution that should be used for that.

Re: Who has a Keurig coffee pot?

Well my Platinum started acting up over the last couple days. :(

Brewing half-cups and then shutting off when it starts to pump (maybe 3/5 times). I called Keurig and they are sending me a whole new unit and a couple boxes for my trouble. The bummer is due to low stock of the Platinum it is going to take 2 weeks to get it.

I'll keep limping along and if it gets bad enough I'll have to bring home my Mini from work. :)

Overall still very impressed with this company, their products and customer service.

I've been very impressed with Keurig's response to the issues lately...seems they send new units with no questions asked.

I got my replacement last week. There is a definite difference, the pump sounds really strong in the this one and it sucks up the water a LOT faster. Hopefully it will hold up.

Green Mountain

The Ice Tea cups are great if you brew them right. I don't use the Ice Bev Button. Instead I fill a 20oz cup with with ice and brew on the second largest size. I also add 1 Splenda and fresh lemon juice. Makes for a great cup of Ice Tea.

Oh good lord. That's not good. I am noticing a difference in what is being brewed out. But it's not that much. Usually I have to hit medium and small to fill my cup. Now I have to hit two mediums.

Hope they resolve the issue for you!

Saw this thread and had to jump in... this machine is the greatest device ever devised by the mind of man!:banger I have one at home and one at the office. It's a real blessing to have a cup first thing in the morning, right away. I still grind and use a french press occasionally, but it's mostly a weekend thing. The drip machine has gone away though. Green Mountain Sumatra Reserve and Van Houtte Kenya are regulars for me.

Cheers,
G

Bummer that they keep crapping out but they do stand behind their products which is refreshing.

They are good with the customer service, which is nice.

All the issues I've had have been with my Platinum brewer.

My single cup B30 has been great, no issues there.

Been having an issue for a couple weeks with my B40. Finally called today and got a tremendous run around. Had to talk to 2 different people. Was told do this, do that, do this again. Then try this and try that. Finally told them screw it how about I just throw the dam thing out.

Might call one more time, might just go back to my french press and be done with it.

Ask to be elevated to the next level of support. Tell them that you have tried descaling and all the other trouble shooting procedures. After that tell them that you are almost out of K-cups and if they won't send you a replacement you are going to just go with a different manufacturer.

I used a Senseo Pod coffee maker for quite a while, but it became hard to find pods besides the ones from Senseo locally (which made weak brew).

I finally broke down and bought a Keurig B-60. That I use quite a bit. :tu

Amazon has 50-count packs from Coffee People for $22. These come with minimal packaging. They are loose inside the cardboard box. The blends offered in this format are Kona, Donut Shop, Jet Fuel, Organic, Black Tiger and Wake Up Call. I have personally tried the Kona, Donut Shop and Jet Fuel. The Kona and Donut Shop make a decent cup of coffee. Which is what you normally get from these machines. Can't ask for much more than just a decent cup of coffee from them. The Jet Fuel is the least palatable of the three I have tried.

Good price on those!

I have had all of them and there is not a Coffee People blend I haven't liked. The Jet Fuel, Black Tiger and Kona are staples for me.

My staple is the Tully's Kona blend. Also the Green Mountain Sumatran Reserve and Dark Magic are really good too. I got the 24 count boxes from Kuerig when I registered my B40. It was the buy 2, get 2 free so with shipping was less than $30.

I'd be up for a k-cup pass if someone wants to put it together.

I'd be up for some Coffee passing. I love my Keurig. Our usual is the Caribou Coffee Morning Blend, my wife loves it, and I get a box of 90 cupsfor 35 bucks at Costco.

Having mine now for nearly 2 years, I can start to notice that it's brewing a little longer. I was just thinking I may need to descale mine.

I had one of the Keurigs that have a reservior and had troubles with the pump as I've seen others have. I got it warrantied then sold it on fleabay and proceeded to buy one of the mine Keurigs. I use it at the office and it works great. I think my favorite k-cup is Caribou Coffee Daybreak ;)
