If we were in the clear, I would invite anyone from this forum for a cigar and port. Maybe not all at once though.

The cigars were fine. Maybe a touch of mustiness, but no real concerns. My cellar can get quite humid; a little above 70%. I smoked all the cigars I had used for experiment and did not replenish.

I am at ease on storing sealed boxes in the basement now, but price they way they are; ain't buying so much...

Thanks Moses. I was curious because my basement was rock solid between 60-68 RH. I kept my humidor there with no water/solution/beads for 5 of the 6 years I lived there. I was wondering if it worked at higher RH levels.

It does. I humidify the basement 2/3's the year due to the wine and cured meats. Currently no meat, but the wine needs the humidity.
