Re: Fifth Annual Fantasy Football for Stakes and the Troops

I got Travis' sticks already. He's not messing around. :tu
If anyone needs my address, drop me a pm. Otherwise I'll get it to you all before too long.
Without boring you guys with the details, I'm trying to get stuff done in an orderly fashion. :) Wish me luck!

I should also mention that I sent out invites to a handful of our brothers who I thought might be a good fit. Just waiting on responses. Then we can see what happens at Shack.
Also, Jeremy has played a lot of times, so I'm going to get back to him as soon as I find out what shakes out of the moves we've already planned.
That's part of the orderly fashion I mentioned, so I guess I decided to bore you guys anyways. :D

Nope. We're going with 8, Travis.

Sorry guys, just too dang busy right now with work, school and kids to run a 4th FF team. I will try to get back in this league next year (if life slows down by then...)

Is the lineup/scoring correct in that we are starting Two QBs each week?
Just checking, because I do not think that this was the case the previous years.

shilala 08-29-2014 12:33 AM

Re: Fifth Annual Fantasy Football for Stakes and the Troops

We started that last year, Travis. It'll be gone next year, and we're gonna adopt a normal 1 QB, 2WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1WR/RB, K, and DEF lineup.
I was thinking this lineup was the same as my other FF league and didn't look at the positions till right before draft time.
I changed them a couple hours before the draft, then in talking to Stephen, decided to put it back the way it was because guys wouldn't be able to take it into consideration prior to draft and may have already planned their strategy.

Re: Fifth Annual Fantasy Football for Stakes and the Troops

Guys, I'll get an update on here real soon of sticks I've received. John sent his a few days ago, I'm guessing they should show up today.

I'm behind on the transferring the pass to an epass format. My office computer sh1t the bed a few days ago and I've got it about half fixed right now.
I'll get you guys all filled in on that asap.
If you want to help move things along, go and download Google Drive.
You'll need that to view and edit the pass list once I get it online and sharable.

The gist of the pass is this...
Rather than send this great big, honkin box around, we'll make our puts and takes on a spreadsheet. We'll also post them in the thread so I can track them easily.
Once we go through a round or two, everybody will mail me their sticks and 6 bucks for return postage. (Or whatever a small flat rate box costs these days.)
I'll then fill everybody's takes, send them out, and we can start a couple more rounds.
We'll play it by ear at first, just to see how it goes and to make sure everyone understands.
I just recently finished an epass and it was the easiest, quickest, funnest pass I was ever in. No stress whatsoever, and guys all got their puts in real quick.
It'll save us a fortune in shipping this great big box around.

I'd also like you guys to consider doing what we did in the past, adding an extra stick with your puts for the first few rounds. That'll help juice the pass and this year's group will be making a definite improvement to the pass for those who come in the future.

Smokes I've received:
John (malakai) 5 entry, 5 troops, 17 betting
Steven: 5 troops, 35 betting
Scott (sofaman) 5 entry
Travis (beeradvocate) 5 entry, 5 troops, 5 betting
Scott (shilala) 5 entry, 5 troops, 34 betting

You other 3 guys, get your sh1t together. :tu
Mike, I know you usually get yours in later with school just starting. Just keep me in the loop, okay?

I'm still no further ahead on the spreadsheet to Google Drive thing. I think I can corner Miss Lisa and get that uploaded tomorrow. Hopefully.

Okay, men. I got the pass tweaked and uploaded and all that crap.
I will be sending a pm with a link to the pass and a pass list and a "how to".
It's pretty simple and self-explanatory. Any questions, just ask in here or text me or pm me or hit up Cole or whatever.

I'll head down to the dungeon early this upcoming week and get some sticks rounded up and sent in to cover my entry fee. Sorry, between work, house hunting, and other miscellaneous fun projects I haven't been home much lately. Now on top of everything else I've gotta find some pristine land in Belize in which to build silos upon.

Re: Fifth Annual Fantasy Football for Stakes and the Troops

1.) There is no pristine land in Belize. It's strewn with garbage and shacks on sticks.
2.) I'm thinking the houses should go for around 25 bucks apiece.
3.) Profit!

Thanks! Rough one for John though. The second high score lost to the high score in both of my leagues this week.
