Re: Ortega Serie D
These are great! But I think the naturals are much better.

Re: Ortega Serie D
Great review Dan! I tried the natural yesterday and expect to try the maduro today in the same vitola for comparison. Just to see if I want to jump into a box of one or the other (or both lol). I've been a huge fan of the EO lines and so far I'm impressed with Mr. Ortega's solo effert. If they can keep the consistancy of the Cubao/601 lines, which I wouldn't expect to be a problem using the My Father factory, I'm positive these should be a great success.

Re: Ortega Serie D
Let us know which one wins Lucky... I have only had the natural, but I am sure the maduro would be very tasty...

Re: Ortega Serie D
I enjoy both wrappers, but the maduros have even better flavor in my opinion. His next series is set for launch in January.

Re: Ortega Serie D
Great review, Dan. The maduro is the better of the two, IMHO, but both are good cigars. I prefer the #7 (corona size).

Hey Rob. Just finished the maduro no. 7 and I think I'm gonna have to go against the majority here and say I kind of preferred the natural wrapper a little better. Both were pretty good smokes but the maduro tasted a little young to my pallet and I couldn't pull the cocoa or rich spice flavors I usually look for in a maduro cigar. I will have to tuck a few away and see what a 6 month nap in the humi will do. :tu Lucky |
