Lots of times I use no beads or anything. I just toss in the sticks and a hygro and seal them up. I'll check the tub after a few days and if all is good, I retrieve my hygrometer. Mind ya, they're slap full of cigars, and those cigars are already well conditioned. The only reason I posted is because I hoped you'd tell me what the instances are where it'd overhumidify, in your experience. I was gonna ask last time I saw this and now it's totally got the best of me, I had to ask. |

What help drop the temp for me was my walk in closet that has an A/C vent in it. I did two things, one was to keep the door closed at all times which dropped the temp from 77 to 73/74 degrees for my two humidors. The other thing I did was to elevate my long Pelican gun case that was turned into a Pelicoor and I was able to place it on an upper shelf that allows the A/C vent to blow right on it. My Pelicoor runs right about a consent 71/72 degrees.

Mine's in the mid to low 70's. 40-50 count. My humidity has spiked to 76, though I think that's because my supply was low until litterally just now. If more sticks hasn't soaked up the excess I'll adjust my removing a water pillow or two.

Hmmm... What about putting your 50 ct humi inside a cooler? I suppose if you really needed to cool it down, you could occasionally throw a sealed ice pack in there wrapped in a small towel for a few hours/overnight or something to keep temps down.
My den/man cave stays around 65 degrees year round in northern MN, so I've never had to worry about the heat issue. |

You need to be real careful with using ice (or the equivalent) in a cooler (or humidor). Even wrapped in a towel the ice is going to create a lot of condensation. It has to pull that moisture from somewhere, so it could play havoc with your RH.

Well with the door closed downstairs the small guest room gets down to around 73-74. I will just keep it there until I can find a means to cool the upstairs bedroom.
The stogies just came out of the freezer this morning. Thawing in the fridge now. |

But, I'm also not the expert. You sir know way more about that than I do. |

Got down to around 72 earlier, so that will definitely suffice.
