Well, actually, I've been doing a lot of speculating lately, taking advantage of the wild ups and downs, buying and selling mostly spyders.

But overall, I've been putting in more money than ever before into my mutual funds, both retirement and non-retirement, during this period of the down market.

Fundamentals have really been thrown out the window lately. Right now, I'd only do ETFs/Spiders/Mutual Funds.

The one thing I've learned in the last year is this:

When you think you have it figured out, the market has a nasty way of telling you that you don't know what the hell you're doing.

Short term- 2X ETF.

At what point in stocks do you guys cash out? Assuming of course you're in it for the short run to make few $$ here and there

I tend to have a really backwards understanding of stocks..I will sell when I make a certain amount of $$ but for some strange reason I like to sit on the stock if it's losing with the idea it'll bounce back.

I'm slowly realizing that I sometimes have to sell it short and take what the market gives.

It's just another vice. Drinking, smoking, and gambling. I've been looking at the tech stocks and pulled the trigger on Apple when it dropped to $82. By far the most undervalued tech stock right now and they are sitting on a huge pile of cash (24.49B right now).

I've heard the same about Apple being a nice pick up along with Nike. I just can't pick up Apple because I am not a fan. and the prices are a bit outta my budget.

That's the hardest thing for some people to learn.

My brother is a problogger on stock trading, he has a cool site and forum for everyone of all skill levels. There is a fund manager that writes a weekly report for his blog, here is this weeks: http://www.stocktradingtogo.com/2008...eekly-issue-9/

My bro is a 100% technical daytrader but also has fund managing experience. Just figured I'd let those know that are looking for more resources in these insane market conditions.

I'm not actually aware of all this stock blogging thing but I guess it couldn't hurt to learn. Stocks are very new to me so this should be an interesting learning curve.

Within a year, it will be at least 30 bucks a share or I will eat a spoonfull of dog crap on live video feed for all to see. How's that?

At $23.70 today.

I'm hoping for all of us it makes it to 30. Although the video would be epic.
