Re: Commemorating 9/11

I am not going to commemorate 9/11. I think about 9/11 almost every day, so why do I need to give it even more attention? It's such a hollow feeling thinking about what happened and the lack of justice.

nice badge. Our Agency made special 9/11 badges but unfortunately we are not authorized to wear them, we can only purchase them as a commemorative item.

Very cool Tom. That day still seems like a bad dream. As I watch the coverage on History channel I get a rush of emotion. I feel so badly for all those who lost loved ones and I get so angry at a group of people who would kill so indiscriminately.

Well, I choose to honor the brave men and women from protective services who gave their lives trying to save others. To each his own, I guess. :sh

I don't mean that one should not, but there's just too many reminders of 9/11 around me all the time, so it's like guilding the lilly. I feel worst about all the passengers and people who worked in the buildings destroyed. They are the most innocent of them all. The families shattered... Just so horrible and I will never foget.

F&P really herald the call of duty and many paid the highest price. It is inherent of the dedication those careers demand.

Re: Commemorating 9/11

on September 11, 2001 in the blink of an eye i became a witness, a survivor and a responder to the attacks in NYC. For several weeks i served as a coordinator for search and rescue/recovery operations. Later on I moved into a logistics and operations support role. In all I spent 9 months working at Ground Zero.
Without question, it was the hardest thing I've ever done. On that day, my wife and I lost at least 100 people we knew...worked with, drank with and walked with.
I find it hard to realize that it is 10 years later. because for me it is not a "memory". It's something i relive every single day.

So i want to really, really thank all of you who remember what happened that day and give the honor and respect to those that served and those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
