Most plant material is fibrous, you're just seeing it. Think cotton, hemp, flax. I suppose cotton is a poor example, but you should get the gist.

That's a sign of a good oily wrapper, and the hairs proturde from oil sacs in the leaf. You would have noticed
also that there were white spots in on the ash that stood out for their brightness and "3D" nature. That's what they
call a"tooth" on a wrapper.

Actually there wasnt any evident tooth in the ash. I was surprised by this because I was expecting it.

Thanks for everyone's input, even the disturbing pic, but its not mold. I didn't see the fibers until I looked at the cigar in sunlight. You can only see the fibers under the right light and its the same color of the wrapper. Plus it has a crystalline esque appearence because it looks kind of, well shiny crystals when you turn it and catch the light just the right way.

Since I do have another one of these coronas left, I might have to take a Lady Schick to it to "trim that thing!"

i'm thinking that the fibers are from the burlap that tobacco is often wrapped in. or maybe the cigar is finally becoming a man.

There is nothing wrong, go ahead and smoke the cigar before the hair gets any longer.

I'm with Brad. I've always known this to be called the tooth of a wrapper leaf. Cameroon wrappers are known to be more "toothy" than most others. Toothiness in no way affects the way the cigar smokes.
