Re: Cohiba NC Siglo Series
MCS...sorry, that was me brother.
I bought a box of the IV's with the intention of selling off a couple of 5'ers and keeping the rest. I smoked one when I got the box and it was ok, nothing great but for the price I wasn't complaining. Smoked another a couple months later and it was awful. If they had smoked like the second one I would've never offered these for sale ;s Now the remaining sticks are sitting in my humi with the hope that maybe some age on them will breathe any kind of life into them. I wouldn't waste my money :2 |

Re: Cohiba NC Siglo Series
In the USA, Altadis owns many Cuban brand names such as Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, H. Upmann, Gispert, Henry Clay, Trinidad, Saint Luis Rey, Por Larranga, Primo Del Rey, Siglo, etc.
In the USA, General Cigar owns many Cuban brand names such as Punch, Partagas, Bolivar, Canaria d'Oro, Cohiba, Excallibur, Hoyo de Monterrey, La Gloria Cubana, Sancho Panza, La Escepcion, etc. Some of the old Cuban brands no longer currently produced in Cuba are now being produced outside of Cuba. It's confusing to many. A clear understand would take much study and credible resources. One easy to find reference book is the Perelman's Cyclopedia of Cigars. This publication is updated yearly for non-Cuban cigar lines and serves as a great guide to understand what countries the component tobaccos are from (wrapper, binder, filler). Perelman's is NOT a review of the brands, only a reference to each line and line extensions. Perelman's also produces a smaller version for Cuban brands, but not updated yearly. |

Also:
I've smoked several of the new Siglo cigars by Altadis. Not my flavor/taste preference. I've shared quite a few extras with friends and they didn't like em. |
Re: Cohiba NC Siglo Series
Of course I'm late on this....but it's probably good they aren't NC Cohibas. NC Cohibas are generally not very good...imho. :2

I've tried these. I think I've had three. First was surprisingly good. Next two, not so much. I won't be buying any more. YMMV.

Re: Cohiba NC Siglo Series
Yeah, I still think there is some confusion about this. These are not related to NC or CC Cohibas at all. The brand is "Siglo Limited Reserve" and they have 10 different lines, which are named very similar to the CC Cohiba Siglo line, and have a similar looking band, which is where all this confusion comes from. Here is a pictures of them:
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4031/...55615203_b.jpg The sizes are the following: VI 54 x 6" VI En Tubo 54 x 6" X (Belicoso) 54 x 6" IV 54 x 5" IV En Tubo 54 x 5" VII 48 x 7" II 45 x 5 5/8" III 44 x 6 1/2" I 44 x 4 1/4" XXI 38 x 4 1/2" And yeah, the first one I had I really liked, the second wasn't so good, so these were hit and miss for me. I might try another one here in the next couple weeks to see how they are now though. |
