I don't think I have but a thousand rounds, all told. And I like to kill stuff, and I definitely like to go out and make the guns go boom.
I don't know what's wrong with me. Gettin old, I guess.

I know I need more. Besides the only time you have too much ammo or fuel is when you are sinking or on fire, or both.

I'm at ~700 .223, 500 9mm, 150 7.62x54R, 100 8mm, few boxes of buckshot, and a few thousand assorted .22LR.

Problem is, I just bought a house with a private outdoor range 2.5 miles down the road, I'm afraid that stash won't last long at all!

Re: How Much Ammo??

~15-20k last I counted not including .22LR

Re: How Much Ammo??

Enough 9mm and .45 to take care of business inside my house and enough .308 and 6mm to handle any 'runners' outside the house.

I like to keep 1000 rounds of each handgun caliber and 200-300 of the long rifles.

I have .40 up the azz but can not for the life of me find .45 rounds for a reasonable price to stock up on. Could be I just picked up my first .45 a few weeks ago but I can find every other sized round in decent well priced quantities except .45.

Cabelas has bulk packs. I am getting ready to make a purchase from them to feed my new Sig.

I only have like 100 rounds of .45

By far and alone my worst stocked caliber........

Spiffy USPct .45 to put rounds through and no rounds to be had... :td

I'm the exact opposite.... I got plenty of .45 rounds (and pistols to shoot it), but I'm thinking of ditching my .40 because I can't afford to shoot the thing!

dammit, and I thought 5k of .45 was enough. *sigh* back to collecting!!!

Now the question of the ages. If you only had the money for one or the other, do you put away that box of Cohibas to age.... or a box of 30 06?
(bearing in mind that in reality you're going to need both with the hordes start attacking)

definately gotta keep it sealed up in cans. last a couple decades that way, at least. Then you rotate your stock and fire through it every once in a while.

Ammo cans with desiccant packs. Locked up and kept in cool dry storage.

Either that or plastic/metal sealed in wooden crates.

I have stacks of both :D
