I home I'm making sense. @ken Most photo uploading sites compress the image unless you buy a premium membership. my camera shoots at ~3000 pixels but photobucket maxes sizes at 1080. The only site I have found that wont change the resolution and does not steal rights to your photos is Deviant art. Also certain color formats will not be accurate on the web. |

VERY INTERESTING! The two photos below from picassa and flikr respectively, demonstrate VERY different color balances when viewed in firefox on my computer. HOWEVER, when I copied the image to my desktop and loaded it in photoshop (the "true" test of color) they proved to be identical........ The only thing I can say between them is that picassa uses a lot more sharpening when uploading. |
Re: Photography Thread
Then it is the color profile.
This article should shed more light on it. http://www.usabilitypost.com/2008/07...or-web-images/ |

Just picked up these for product photography at work. http://promaster.com/products/products.asp?product=9198 I don't know a derned thing about product photography, and only slightly more about studio work in general, so this should keep me amused for a few very hectic shooting days..... |

How do you like Florida? haha
I also masked just the truck and threw a high pass filter on it. Im happy with it considering the radiant heat coming off the track. |

Re: Photography Thread
What's the best/cheapest way to get into photography? I have a Canon 590IS, and I love taking pictures. I just lose any type of quality when the lighting is not Ideal. I love taking sports photos, but the action is usually too fast, and not enough light.
Can I get a decent lens to put on my 590 IS(a), or am I better off getting a DSLR(b)? I know option B will cost me much more than A. Any insight is apreciated. |

If you are looking for point and shoot most of them don't perform great in low light. An easy way around this is to use a tripod. |
