Wings having another tough years with injuries...I assume Osgood is hurt too with MacDonald being a regular? I don;t think the Wngs can keep up their current pace with Ozzy and Howard both out. :2

You better not catch up in the Alumni League, Pops. I'd like to keep my top spot :)

MacDonald will be taking place with Osgood out. What has been worrying me is that we have been simply just trying to outscore everyone, and we've been successful at that being 2nd in the league in goals/game. No way we can keep that pace. Hoping we can grind out some wins and play better D.

Sharks about to take the ice against the Blues. Sharks are a little banged up, but nowhere near as badly banged up as the Blues. No Clowe tonight against the Blues who play a very physical chippy type pf game. Last game was pretty nasty. Praying this is their slump buster. If they get beat again I wonder if they will try a trade to shake it up.

Hawks had a 3rd period meltdown again, salvaged a point. Maybe the most disgusted I have been watching them this season.

Hey try being me right now.
Its funny when Jaime Baker is basically calling Heatley and some other guys soft and saying not giving up the body or playing with any desperation.

2-2 against the Blues who have damn near half their farm team up it sounds like and almost none of their stars in the lineup. These guys are so bad right now it hurts. I am fully expecting another loss. Blues playing a perfect road game. Keep it close. Sharks have not scored 5 on 5 in a long time. PP goals are all they can muster.

Heatley is tearing it up though...I wonder how he motivates himself in the throngs of a long NHL season? ;) :r

Sharks were busy today:

Scott Nichol gets a 4 game suspension.

Picked up Ben Eager from Atlanta for a 5th rounder. Doug Wilson describes him as a "bigger Nichol".

Stole Kyle Wellwood on re-entry waivers from the Blues.

Knew the hit was bad when the sharks announcers called it into question and said they were suprised no penalty.

Can we please get some damn defense?
Current inside rumor Sharks are talking to the canucks about Bieksa for Seto and a farm player the Sharks dont want to part with. Feel weird for Seto hes trade bait and everyone knows it.

I would be shocked if the 'Nucks moved Bieksa for Setuguchi (sp?).

I find it hard to believe they would make any trades that could have a possibility of making any other playoff contenders better

Well this guy is fairly tied in, but maybe hes wrong. We shall see I suppose. I have heard from multiple affiliated sources Seto and blank prospect or draft pick are on the table for a solid dman.

Wings were minus Mike Modano C, Danny Cleary RW, Pavel Datsyuk LW, Brad Stuart D, & started their minor league goalie Joey MacDonald since our backup (Osgood) is also out.

Not to make excuses, but injuries make it hard to really measure the two.

Bruins are looking good right now..(who knows how long it will last).
Five wins out of the last 6 games and the loss against the Pens.

I hope they can keep up the pressure and win the Division.

I believe that wholeheartedly...I just don't think the Canucks are going to trade Biesksa for that package while they are sitting atop the standings, Mike.

The Wings are far more decimated with injuries than the Pens are at this point. Don't forget Holmstrom as well.

Well Oshie got a goal in his second game back, something the Blues definitely need. Now they're clawing there way back against the wings.

As for my favorite player, Im happy to see that Zdena Chara got a hat trick the other night!! :noon Awesome stuff for a defenseman.

Really suprised at the officiating in the 3rd here.
Jumbo takes a bs call then no call for obst for sharks infront of net on a scoring opportunity, then jumbo gets cutt bad on the ffaceoff with a highstick a lot of blood and no call either. Stitches or glue and everything.

Wow. I hate breaking out the crutches, but serious bs.

Damn Sharks take a delay of game now. 3 left. Not good. Sharks should havr been on pp for jumbo highstick makes it that much worse.

I hope so because thats going to suck as I imagine it will bite the Sharks at the end of the year in the playoffs. Him backstoping a Detroit team with a decent defensive core could be bad news for the Sharks and some other teams

Knowing my luck he will come back and stick the shiv right in the kidney.
You know he will have his A game anytime they play. Much like Niemi with you guys.

Focker should shart him self like he does every year in the playoffs, but knowing life he wont and instead stuff it up the sharks arse.

Was very glad to see the Sharks get the win as I really think they got hosed by the refs. how four guys missed that high stick and the fountain of blood it created was crap. I hope someone gets a are you blind phone call. Luongo got the #1 star and deserved it. The Sharks really out played the Canucks tonight. Luongo made some amazing saves to get it to OT. That said that 4-3 pk by the Sharks in OT was beauty.

Glad to see the Wings signed Nabakov for only $250K. I hope he clears waivers. I don't think they plan on him being the starter, but you never know how that stuff will shake out. Osgood is out after hernia surgery, so they at least need a backup. MacDonald isn't terrible, but I dont' think he's ready yet. Howard has had his struggles, but I wouldn't hand the job to Evgeni.

38, will be 39 in November.

He started with the Wings in 93-94 when he was only 20.

No way on earth Nabakov clears waivers. I would take him for spite if I was ANY other team. Such a small cap hit, there is zero chance he ends up a wing.

So it is said, so it is written.

Would be hilarious to see the Sharks grab Nabby also. I got to imagine someone would grab him, bug stranger things have happened.

You're probably right. If I were Holland I probably would have tacked on a 2nd year at 1/2-1 million just to scare off the waiver snipers.

Hes a steal for the isles at that price who have major issues in net.
I wonder about Tampa as Steves ties to Detroit. Would he step on toes this early. He should but you have to wonder.

I am hoping he Isles get him so he can mentor the two new kids. Dipi doo is DONE IMHO.

But even if we claim him would he accept? I personally doubt it except for this scenario:

He comes here for the rest of this season to mentor Lawson/Poulin and uses us to get back to NHL play/conditioning. Kinda like NHL teams use thier AHL affiliates (after all The Isles would or close to an AHL caliber team). he would also gt to work with the legendary Billy Smith. Menawhile, a backoor deal is already in the mix set up to deal him to a team he wants to go to.

Maybe just my wisful thinkking.

So if Nabby won't report, do the Isles place him back on wavers? How many times will he be claimed and waived again before he finally makes it to the Wings? Jersey? Ottawa? Edmonton? It could last the whole season.

If I was Snow I would lay out the plan as I said earlier and if he still won report than F him let him sit out with no pay for no play...I figured it would pla out the way it is so far. I am still hoping he will change his mind and report. We need something to go our way on the island.
