The Brous looks different in that picture, Shane. Like the handle seems more rounded where you'd put your fingers. Oh well, still sexy.

Can't place the second picture. Almost want to say a CRK?

Congrats on the Strider Shane! If I could find a PT at a good price I'd probably find a way to sneak it in the house.

Do any of you knife guys know a lot about the micro tech OTF ultra tech knife? I was handed down one from my Grandfather it's says 09/2001 and a serial number. Can't really find a good info on the older models
Thanks.

MurphysLaw 04-05-2013 06:48 PM

Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread

The older microtechs are great knives, I'm kinda glad the one I was thinking about selling didn't get bought. Check out microholics.org, they might have the info your looking for. Congrats and enjoy the hand me down, the only knife I got from my grandad is an old craftsman folder.

I forgot I had this Knife. It's my Dads old knife he used in the Coast Guard, 25 years ago. Definitely seen some time on the Water. It's still in really great shape. New EDC.

Do you know much about it? I couldn't find much online
Edit - Nevermind, I found 315 on the blade, almost hidden. Googled it and that brought up a lot.

I snagged an SnG, the PT is soooooo small and adorable but almost impossible to find. Also the price difference between the PT and the SnG is close enough to go a little bigger (for me anyways). Thanks though, it is one of my grail knives although it doesn't count since it is so beat up. It has been sitting at the post office for a few days.

I've been real close to buying a knockoff PT for a little while just to see how it feels in the hand and carries. Just haven't been able to bring myself to spend the coin on a copy, especially when I have my eye on a few other things I could spend the same cash on.

Yah I try not to support knock offs, it is messed up that they can sell those. I am hoping my SnG is in my mailbox when I get home.

If all goes well, one of the customs I have ordered should be done in the next couple of weeks. This was the first knife I ever considered a grail so I am very excited to get my hands on it!

It is a Jake Hoback A15 bolster lock bronzed with lightning-strike carbon fiber inlays.

It looks like a heavily modified Zero Tolerance 0200. Made by Kershaw knives.

http://zt.kaiusaltd.com/knives/knife/zt0200

Could be a 0300 but the grip shape says 0200 to me.

Hey Shane, what are those two you just posted?

Also, has anyone heard of/checked out "Red Bearded Blades" on facebook? He buys the blades, has them stamped, and wraps them in paracord. They are one piece blades though, not folding knives. Everything is made in the USA and he is a veteran, and some of the profits go for a good cause. Anyway, I ordered one from him that should be shipped in the next couple days. I will post pictures, but thought you all (Shane! :D ) would appreciate looking at them.

Edited: this is my actual knife that he took a picture of...just waiting to finish up a couple more so he can mail them all out at once

Loving the Strider, Shane! Hopefully I'll find one available once I have funds squirreled away. I'm hoping for a used one as it'll probably be a beater and get carried way less than my Sebbie.

I am interested in selling my Brous Silent Soldier Flipper.
I am not a fan of flippers, I only bought it because it is such an awesome design.
It has a brand new lock up from the factory.
Let me know if interested:

Yah I was looking at getting the fines in diamond, sapphire and strops. :tu

Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread

My foody BIL gave me a Dexter Russell probably 25 years ago. Doesn't give you the precision angled sharpening of a system but with appropriate pressure for a given steel plus a strop it does everything I want. Standing it vertically on the ends makes it possible to very closely replicate your angles from one side to the other of the rods.

Blak Smyth 04-22-2013 07:23 AM

Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread

After a couple sharpenings on the kit, I have come to realize you must do a regrind on each knife once. It's the only way to make the angles match the machine.

Same sharpener here. I actually need to get it out and do some sharpening.

The Transportation Security Administration will temporarily delay a policy change that would have allowed passengers to carry small folding knives onto planes.

Until further notice, the items remained banned from the cabin of commercial planes.

It does look similar, good call.
Funny thing is I never was attracted to those, yet I really like my design.
I will post up a couple more skecthes.

I have list my Brous SSF up for sale on a knife forum, guess I should list it here too just in case.
