Re: Photography Thread
Fog on the water on the Caney Fork River. East Tennessee. This river is crossed by Interstate 40 5 times in just a few miles,
and I always want to stop and take photos because every crossing is photogenic. But there is always a ton of traffic behind me or I am in a hurry to avoid falling asleep at the wheel near my destination 10 hours away. But this time it was raining and no one was on my butt and I felt I could give it a shot. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...psd53ed3a6.jpg |

Soon you guys will tell me to quit posting pics of London. Still got a lot more to process, so suck it up. :lr

I went out last night, speaking of cotton, on the Arkansas side of the river. A Flickr friend wanted to go out and shoot by the river, and it had come up a good bit since last time I was out there. At first I was apprehensive, but there was no trouble with railroad maintenance two-track roads, outside of some mud that was avoidable. I put a texture on this which I rarely do, and turned it B&W, too....scene just called for it. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3795/1...20fac261_c.jpg TEXTURED - Memphis Bridges in February by Brad-(OLS), on Flickr |

Re: Photography Thread
Well, when I say that my photo called out to be texturized, you can see here, that the photo and all that was before me
was basically sepia to begin with, just a tan landscape from hell. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8b868be7.jpg So I fixed it up really good. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps77154930.jpg |

Abe is a nice touch.

Re: Photography Thread
iPhone pic of a gentleman reading and smoking up at HoC this past weekend. I felt awkward taking the pic but thought that him being backlit and pausing to look at his smoke was too good to pass up.
Not a groundbreaking pic by any means but it turned out better than I expected for a shoot-from-the-hip iphone pic. lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps69413f8c.jpg |

But I got distracted by WORK of all things and blew it off, haah. I also wanted it to stand out and thought he might get lost if I made it too good. |

Re: Photography Thread
For those of you with Nikons, and not too many lenses, you might want to pay close attention to this listing:
http://www.adorama.com/US%20%20%20%20620147.html When I see these this cheap, I usually BUY THEM, since I can always use a fast lens on hand that I can attach to a body for sale or other use, rain, beach, etc. ANYWAY, at $54, this is a pretty SHARP lens and at a decent portrait focal length for a crop sensor body. I would rather have the 35mm, but it is $174 used, so I back up 4 steps. Normally I would say these things go FAST at $54, but many times its ME that buys em. But I only learned to buy them so fast when I would THINK about it for ten minutes and it would be gone. SO if you want a good, fast, cheap lens, jump on it now. It is in 'Very Good" condition, which some people would pause at, but I have generally found their V classified stock to be pretty good. Its only at G that I tend to pass, unless its a D700 for $950. |
