Hey Guys.
What is a good price for a Romanian AK47 these days? I have the opportunity to get one for $550. Thoughts? |

That and the hollywood support hand grip w/ modified weaver stance.
But hey.... Who am I to judge? If he's comfortable and accurate, I say, "Rock On!" |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Strong shoulder locked and weak elbow out. Sort of a hybrid stance. Maybe it's just the camera angle.
Like Catfish said, if he's comfortable and accurate..... To each his own. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I cringe when I see somebody w/ their hand under the bottom of the gun like that
I was at the range one time when a dude had some kind of misfire or malfunction (never found out what it was) and it blew the mag out the bottom of the gun busting his hand up all kinds of nasty ways... ugh. |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Then again, if you typically shoot a Beretta 92FS, you're used to carrying a tea cup and saucer.
I keed, I keed. Well..........not really. |

Several years ago, I bought an SAR 3 for $300. This rifle today would go for $800 or more since it's a 5.56mm and there aren't a lot of 'em out there. An SAR 1 I'm guessing would go for about $600ish. -Mark. |

Re: First Firearm Thread.
I hate to triple post, but I got do the coolest thing at lunch today. I got to shoot a CAR with this.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r897/50cal.jpg The Barrett rep was there setting up the range, and a Fish and Wildlife officer called me to come out and meet him. When I got there I watched them shoot at something. It wasn’t until I had a pair of binoculars that I saw it was a car. You couldn’t see it with the naked eye. I can tell you this I have shot shotguns that had more recoil than the Barrett did. It was a rush, and an adrenalin rush to say the least. |

There is a prince50 mag release installed which makes it a fix'd mag. There is alittle screw in there that you can lossen up that lets the button work normaly again which would make it illeage in CA so we would not do that right.. Even though we shoot at a private range. http://www.coldwarshooters.net/images/prince50.jpg As for the Pmag. I put a rivet half way down the spine so it only can hold 10rnds. I like the feel of a 30rnd clip only reason for this. The things we have to do in California .... |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Did 30 round magazines that were previously legal in CA become illegal somehow? I remembered new ones were. I have had my guns since the early 80s.
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
No they are still legal - PreBan mag's
but you can not put them in a gun thus making it an assault weapon so you need a preban weapon also. need both peaces of the puzzle. :( |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Looking for some advice on on an aftermarket stock for my Remington 810 12-gauge shotgun. I bought the pistol grip version for home protection, and love the mobile-ness of it, but would like to add a stock to it in case I want to take it out anywhere. I've been looking at the Knoxx SpecOps which seems to have gotten some good reviews:
http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Spe...k,1157,165.htm Anyone have any other recommendations? Trying to stay under $100 shipped. Thanks |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Here is a less expensive version of the stock, but I have learned one thing over the years. You get what you pay for.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Glad to say I took my Florida CWP class today, so now just have to get printed and send it all in when I turn 21 in a few weeks... so still a bit to wait with the 90-day period it can take, but at least I'm on my way!

Florida Dept of Agriculture is way understaffed and since the flood of over 90,000 applicants after the election, they are buried in a pile of apps. There is a rumor they lifted the 90 day issue statute, which I am not sure is legal. Best thing to do is prepare yourself for a long wait and get a good gun, holster, and practice a lot and get familiar with all the laws of conceal carry. After 90 days, if you call the dept and demand a supervisor and let it be known you are familiar with the statute, you may be able to get it around 110 days. In any event, congrats on getting the wheels turning to become another responsible Floridian who carries daily. My Smith 38 Airweight is never left home. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
And This is why I love Arizona!
Open carry without permit :tu Carry in vehicle without permit :tu Concealed carry class, 8 hours, one time Permit takes less than 60 days Permit is good for 5 years :tu Renewal, Just send the state $60. ...No renewal classes |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Thanks for the congrats guys, glad to join the club!

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Also, I'd call after about 60 days to make sure everything is ok and the prints are legible. They can reject them and make you wait longer.
If you are looking to monitor the time between mailing and recieving, check your bank statements and figure about 75 days from the time they cashed your check to the time it will be in your wallet. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
My brother and his friend just turned 21 and they turned in their CCW permits about 2 weeks ago. They said the wait would be 30 days. I am glad mine only took 3 days 2 years ago :D

Ya know, this thread has become a real pain to wade through, is there any good reason we don't have a separate firearms forum? Sure seems like there's plenty of interest.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
