What’s a good sub $25 readily available very dry red to take out to dinner (Italian, prefer not an Italian wine tho haven’t had any that impressed me) full bodied, I normally drink either French Cotes du Rhone or CA/Washington Cabs. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Michel David Petit Syrah? I'd also suggest a Mourvedre/Monastrell.

Where do you all get your wines?
I get mine mostly from wineries in the Carneros, Paso Robles, Santa Ynez, and Santa Cruz Mountains of California. Just because I get enough good wines from my tasting visits to keep my cellar full.
We also subscribe to the Naked Wines Club, which is hit or miss sometimes but well worth it. We get to try wines from everywhere and some are on the "keep buying" list.
There are some very good port wines there too.
There are some good wines in the Gold Country here as well. We are going camping up there this coming week and are sure to bring some back. If I survive the dirt bike riding. F'n 40s year olds like to kick my ass.

First is the clearance bins at wine stores. Those are the best deals to be found. Torn label for discount? Yes please.

I frequent two local B&M's and sign up for their email first/only deals. They can sell a pallet of wine in a hour if priced right. I am one of those buyers.

Wine auctions. They're not what they use to be, but there are still deals to be had. Need to be one step ahead of wine trends so you are bidding on wines that aren't as competitive. Fair amount of research on price and quality needs to be considered. Many pay more in auction than just buying it at the store.

Online vendors. Handful of vendors I buy wine from and either ship right away or hold for cooler months to ship.

Private party. "I know a guy, who knows a guy who has some wine..." I am all ears and can keep my mouth shut on the details...

Have recently discovered Wine Access which I like for the interesting selection and good prices.
You can get an initial discount if you use my referral:

Also, wtso.com can have some interesting stuff.

KL Wines, Flickinger, wine.com, Vivino, NH liquor store, handful of winery clubs...

Not the worst, but I recommend the Chianti which is only 4.99, and is DOCG! Best wine deal going. ;)

If you are looking for deals on wine, sign up for Last Bottle Wines. I'd appreciate if you use the link here in the long shot someone here actually does sign up and buy a wine from them. I get a discount on a future purchase,.

I do order from them several times a year. Especially on their Champagne deals. Just order enough for the free shipping.

Good to hear from someone. I got on the Seven Apart list but the price point was hard to take based on a "we say it's good" ;)

Had a couple bottles with a friend last night. 2014 Fritz Haag Riesling Kabinett and 2013 Quintarelli Rosso Ca’ del Merlo. Both really good. The Quintarelli took some time to open up. Lots of structure.

Quintarelli is a top notch blue chip wine producer.

You're welcome. Keep an eye out for Warre's 2008 LBV. Seems to be a current vintage at stores and a crazy value around $24.

Already has several years in the bottle. Seen it a few stores, so I assume that is what is being distributed. I picked up 6 bottles of it from Total Wine.

I drank a 2005 bottle last week of December. That was boarder line too young and took 4 hours to open up. I can’t imagine how tight the 2016 was. Still incredible wine. I hope you enjoyed!

Just a heads up, tomorrow is Berserker day on http://www.wineberserker.com. One-day sale each year. Last year picked up some Ridge, DiCo, and some other juice. If you like wine, you’ll be able to find something.

I have never ordered from them. Doesn't look like a traditional store. How does it work?

It’s a forum. Owner puts together all the deals and there will be threads posted to buy directly from producers with discount codes. They’ve been doing it for 13 years now. Also some auctions happening as well. Definitely worth a look :2

Clos Cibonne rose... super good and intriguing because it's fairly different from most roses.

Took WSET L3 exam earlier this week - now just have to wait forever for the result, but pretty sure I did well.
