Being that today is Thursday, we'll be heading over to Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars this evening to enjoy a couple of primo stick and to see who ended up with this year's CigarFest "Cigar Nut" tickets. Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on as always. We had a good time last night at Schlesinger' s smoking top shelf cigars and all. Well, it looks like so far that we'll have a good 10 to 12 S/BOTL attending the weekend's festivities at Cigar Fest from the Hudson Valley and I'm sure that number will rise as we get closer. This weekend, the NASCAR racers are at Phoenix International Raceway with all 3 series attending starting tonight at 2000 (8pm) with the Camping World Truck race. Good morning everyone and yes, the special Sunday coffee is brewing. Well, Kyle Busch did it again yesterday by winning the Nationwide Series race with Carl Edwards right on his heals all the way. What was amazing was that Kyle Busch led every lap of the race and that hasn't been done for years. We'll see if he can sweep the weekend and he is the only one in NASCAR history to do it and that was last year at the Bristol Motor Speedway: http://www.nascar.com/
Today's Sprint Cup Seriers race will begin at 1500 (3pm) and can be see on FOX. Besides NASCAR, there are a number of Pre-season baseball games on as well as the NBA and the NHL are in full swing. I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys a favorite or two or.......... :)

It was Jeff's first win in 66 races and a big congrats goes out to him and the entire Hendrix Racing team. The Corps starts their Spring Break this Friday through the 20th but the Installation continues as this is the beginning of our busy season. Well, we had a good time last night at Schlesinger's smoking primo stogies and catching up on the local situation and see who is and isn't getting flooded out. Well, the only NASCAR action we have this weekend is the NASCAR Camping World truck race tomorrow afternoon live from Darlington, SC which will be televised on SPEED channel at 1700 (5pm). There is a number of college basketball games and pre-season MLB as well. Anyway, yesterday was a great day to be outdoors, temps reached the lower 50's and the sun was out. Got a jump on the spring yard clean-up and then enjoyed a fine cigar (La Riqueza #3) afterwards. Good morning all and yes, the coffee is brewing as usual. Well, yesterday was a perfect day out with temps reaching the 70s and sunny. I sat out on the back deck after work with Beth and we enjoyed some wine and I picked out a tasty treat to smoke from the humidor. It was a Perdomo Edicion De Silvio Robusto with a few years of age and it was great. Today, we have some running around to do and then we're attending a fund raiser for the Warrior Transition Unit (Wounded Warriors) at the Palaia Vineyards Winery with a wine - chocolate - cheese tasting: http://www.palaiavineyards.com/entertainment.html

Good morning all and yes, the Sunday special coffee blend is brewin'. Yesterday was another nice early Spring day as the weather was great which made the Warrior Transition Unit fund raiser a huge success. Afterwards, we came back to the house and fired up the grill for a thick london broil and of course cigars which were Camacho 2008 Liberty'. Congrats to Kyle Busch for winning yesterday's NASCAR Nationwide Series race and I hope today's race will be as exciting as well. West Point is "Code White" until 0900 and the schools are on a 2 hour school delay. Well, we had a good time last night at Schlesinger's celebrating Kayakin' Dan's birthday smoking top shelf cigars and enjoying some tasty birthday cake. It's lookin' like 8 of us from the West Point / Newburgh area will be heading down to the Garden City, Long Island Herf, it will be great to see Lindsay, Isy and all the S/BOTL from NYC and LI. Sports wise, we have a full weekend of college basketball, the end of Spring Training for the MLB and of course NASCAR from Fontana, CA. Got some needed yard work done yesterday (planted bushes, removed some old fencing and such) and then enjoyed watching the NASCAR Nationwide Series race over at my brother-in-laws place. I removed the 4" x 4" fence posts from Saturday's project which was no easy task. Afterwards, we sat back and watched the NASCAR Sprint Cup race which had a great finish. Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on since 0340 (that's right, 3:40 am). We conducted an "Adverse Weather Condition Conference Call" this morning with the predicted weather and all. Well, the weather guessers were wrong (thank god) and it's barely doing anything out there. Anyway, the Yankees won their season opener yesterday over the Tigers 6 to 3 and they looked really good. They're off today and will be back at it tomorrow at 1600 (4pm) on the FOX game of the week against the Tigers again. Had a good time last night at Schlesinger's talkin' big stuff about the Bombers and smokin' the first of many celebratory stogies of the year. Happy Sunday morning all, the coffee is on and the weather looks to be a nice one today. Well, the Yankees beat the Tigers again yesterday with a final score of 10 to 6 and hopefully they can sweep them out of town with Phil Hughes throwing the 1st pitch for the Bombers. Also, a big congrats to Butler and UConn for making it into the final dance Monday night. Today, the NASCAR racers will be in Martinsville, VA racing on the shortest track of the season which will begin at 1300 (1pm) on FOX. Good morning all and yes, the coffee has been on since 0430 as always. Well, the Yankees lost to the Tigers 10 - 7 and couldn't pull off the sweep even after a few homers leavin' the park. Congrats to Kevin Harvick for winning yesterday's NASCAR race and it's his first back to back win since 2006. The weather was nice yesterday so we sat outside, I smoked a very tasty stogie and BBQ'd a beer can chicken on the grill for a good 2 hours which came out great.
