Well, not quite.

"Toxins are poisons produced by some biological function in nature, and venoms are usually defined as toxins that are injected by a bite or sting to cause their effect, while other poisons are generally defined as substances absorbed through epithelial linings such as the skin or gut."

So toxins are poisons. Venoms are toxins that are injected. Ergo, a venom is a poison with a specific delivery mechanism, but still a poison at the end of the day.

You are correct that venom has to be injected and that poisons are toxins, but all toxins are not poisons and venom is not poison, even extracted from a snake it is still called venom as it has to enter the blood stream( which in the end is what they really classify the difference) through an injection.

Sorry, Bob. I didn't realize I was correcting anything. And I still don't get that from my post. Probably my ignorance of the diff between poison and venom. Hell, down south, we are all ignorant anyway, and pretty much use the two terms interchangeably. That's just us being lazy!

Was it the flamethrower comment? If so, you took that wrong. The flamethrower was meant to be used as an eradication method for that hoard of spiders! My wife would not consider that to be an extreme solution!
