Nice to see Harang get his first win of the season last night, and probably the first one in a while. He pitched pretty well it appears. :tu

Maybe if they can start playing better against decent teams, instead of just the crappy ones, they have a shot at moving up in the division. The division is shaping up to be exceptionally weak so far this season.

That's his second win since May 25th of last year. First was Aug last year, the second was yesterday.:td

Cincinnati is in the top three most hated teams in baseball supposedly. I don't agree at all and think the results are either made up or biased.
http://cincinnati.com/blogs/reds/201...aseball-teams/

Boston is number 2, but how are the Yanks and Dodgers not in the top three?
Indians and the Reds? America start hating Ohio all of a sudden? How can you hate the Reds (a team that hasn't had a winning record in ten years)? You hate the teams who dominate and win all the time, unless you are a bandwagon fan (or grew up in that area). What gives?

I have no idea Andy. They mentioned this on the talk radio show yesterday. It has to be false. What the hell did the Reds do?

The Reds suck, even the 'fans' hate the Reds. It could stem from old hatred of the Big Red Machine. :hm

Nice little streak going here....unfortunately it's just the Astros. We'll just call it a confidence builder lol. Kind of nice to see a starter get into the 7th inning.

Can't imagine this is a real shocker that they are beating a terrible team. It would be nice to see them win one at St. Louis. :tu

Really....any 4 game winning streak with this team has to be a surprise regardless of who ever it is against!

As always. Masset needs to go! But they recieved no help from the offense either yesterday. Three hits and no runs is just bad, even if it was against Carpenter. Carpenter looked off yesterday, yet we looked like a little league team against him.

Two in a row (losses). How does this impact our return home against the Mets who are hot right now? Does Dusty pump them up again or do we continue on a downward spiral?

I thought he was back in the 4 spot today, but I agree, he is a better hitter in the 2 spot. Media is going crazy on his lack of hustle yesterday. BP is my favorite player but he's gotta wake up and quit showboating.

Hell, that was a WELL hit ball. I probably would have left the box like that too. Oh well, I think Dusty can be a little dramatic at times too.

Edit: he was in the 4 spot today. I'm with you Andy I like him better in the 2 hole.

Dusty and John Fay. Fay (of the Cincy Enquirer) seems to have it out for BP this year ever since BP snubbed him during spring training. Fay doesn't know how to take a joke.

Nice to see the graphic at the start of the game today showing that the Reds have the worst leadoff hitters in the MLB. Stubbs et al. are batting a combined .149 in the leadoff spot. :td

Also nice to see Homer reaffirming my assertion that his ass should be back in Louisville. :bh

Final line for Homer : 4 IP, 7 ER, 5 Hits, 5 Walks, 3 Strikeouts.

Looks to be on his way to 0'fer the season thus far. Send his ass back to Louisville. :td

Nice debut by the rookie Castro tonight. HR and a triple 6 RBI's already. :jd

It sounded in the interview with the GM that they have no idea who to put there, no one in Triple A and no one to trade for. The have Cabrera there tonight and he is 1 for 3 so he is beating the average.

Not everyone, just (in order of priority) Stubbs, Bailey and Bruce. Stubbs has a lower BA than 3 of their pitchers and has started 27 of 29 games. Bailey has shown one quality start in 7 and didn't even win that one and Bruce, finally decided he wants to play baseball but I am still cautious of him. :2

Stubbs ranks 15th (yes 15th) on the team in BA and is still an everyday player. Assuming there are 8 positions that should have decent BA's he is batting like the 7th best pinch hitter but he batted leadoff for too many games and is still in the 7 spot. He doesn't play great defense and gets on base about 1 out of 5 chances. Why is he an everyday player?

This might be a year where the Reds could suprise if the division continues to be as crappy as it is right now, I am very suprised that the division is so bad. They are going to need to find a 4th and 5th starter though as the season goes on, thus far they have very few outings where everything has worked for them. Also the Reds have won 9 games of their 16 in the last at bat of the game, good for now, but you won't always end up winning in those situations. :tu

Nice to see Bailey bring his ERA DOWN to 5.66 and Stubbs bring his BAvg. to almost .200 against the Pirates today. I am still not sold on either of these two bums:td

Only 1 game back from first place!:banger This weekend's series will determine who is the division leader (at least temporarily). I hate to say it, but I think it'll be just like the last two, we'll win one, then the Redbirds will win the other two.
