I don't know if this has been asked before but what is the best way to sharpen a pocket knife? I have CRKT M16-10KZ that has lost its edge.

for tantos you need to do each edge separately. Focus on the belly then do the tip where the angle starts. If you do both at the same time you will round off your secondary point. I use http://www.basspro.com/Lansky-Sharpe...SELL_THUMBNAIL Its cheap and effective. Just remember to count your strokes or you will throw off the blade geometry.

Mailman is here but is taking FOREVER to do everyones boxes. Pictures of my new blade when I can get my grubby paws on it.

Neat little buck Blak Smyth

My EDC now is a Leatherman Wave. Before I got that, I carried a SAK Explorer, and a Cold Steel Voyager. On trips and such, I still stick the CS in my front right pocket. The wave either in the pocket or sheath, depending on what I am dong that day.

I carried a SpyderCo Delica for years until I lost it and was pissed. I bought a Benchmade Aphid that I carried for a bit before I gave it to my brother as a New Zealand present when he left the US to shear sheep with the Kiwis.

Now I carry an Benchmade Axis (580S assisted open):

I'm not gonna lie, I've cut my fair share of triple caps with this puppy.

The knife that's in my car is the SOG Seal Pup which has survived many a backpacking excursion, salt water use, and backpacking in Italy and New Zealand. I love that knife.

My other regulars are Buck hunters, the SOG Northwestern Ranger, classic Leatherman tool, SOG tool, Gerber tool, and assorted Swiss Armies I've picked up throughout the years. I am dying for the Benchmade Infidel next...but for now it's way out of my paygrade. Summer is the slow season.

I've held the Infidel a few times, unless you REALLY want it....I'd get a Microtech Scarab instead, preferably an older one. Maybe a 06 or earlier "safe queen".

Victorinox Tinker, the one MacGyver carried the most often (although he was also known to carry the Huntsman and Spartan as well). Also have a Victorinox Classic on the key chain as a admittedly diminutive backup. Would like to find an inexpensive multi-tool that I could customize a bit (i.e. that I could disassemble and fabricate a beer faucet wrench for)

Why's that? I've played with a few Infidels. What do you like about the Scarab?

The Microtechs are slimmer, carry amazingly well. I mean seriously I forget I'm carrying my Ultratech all the time. I like the position of the thumb slide better on the Microtechs.

IMHO the Infidels are just priced too high for what they are. They need to slim them down. The Microtechs also weigh about half as much. They literally aren't there. Great carry knives.

Much more options with the Microtechs as well.

I'd get an old one though. My 06 has no hangups and works wonderfully every time. The new ones are for $hit.

S&W Extreme Ops manual folder
S&W M&P assisted open

What can I say, I love me some S&W knives. :D

I strongly disagree. Currently Microtechs customer service sucks but ive noticed no difference in the QC since they moved from Florida. All of mine fire just as strong never had a misfire. If you CAN find an older one go for it but like ive said i havent noticed any differences.

I do however agree that Microtech is far better than the Infidel. The benchmade has significantly more blade play than any of the microtechs. For an EDC I would go with either the ultratech at ~3.5" or the slimmer but shorter and more expensive troodon ~3. Just my experience and .02

Stay Sharp.
