Re: Steelers fans check in...
Great game, Steelers... Came down to the wire, but the better team pulled it out tonight.
Hoping we see eachother again. |
Re: Steelers fans check in...
Well that's not the way I would prefer to do it but a ugly win is still a win

Any word on Polamalu?

Re: Steelers fans check in...
That one scared the pants off me!
Lots of room for improvement, very happy with the outcome. Chris..... |

Strained MCL 2-4 weeks. So for him I will assume he will be back after 1 week. |

I think Troy is the Tasmanian Devil

Re: Steelers fans check in...
He's something else isn't he? He'll be missed back there in the weeks to come.

Re: Steelers fans check in...
It was an ugly win, but a win nonetheless. Big Ben had a great night, but what worries me is the OL and the lack of the running game. Ds will catch on to his pump fakes, but I have faith that things will gel. :)

While talking football with the owner, a lady in her 80's at the next table pipes in with football views; she's a Green Bay transplant to Montana who is actually a Vikings fan. I LOVE football!!! You can go anywhere in the US and find a friend to talk to, even if they aren't a Titan fan! Titans gave you guys a tough one last night. I was very impressed, again, with the Steeler curtain. |

I agree on the pump fake, it only works so many times. I hope the O-line and lack of the short game where only 1st game jitters. But with that being said I love the boys in Black & Gold!!! |
Re: Steelers fans check in...
Here's a Steelers song I never heard before.
I thought I heard them all. This one actually doesn't suck as much as most. :) And so far as the O-line and pump fakes and lack of running game goes... We were playing the Titans. Hello? Anyone remember what the Steelers looked like against the Titans last year? Ben spent most of the game on his back, the rest he spent seeing stars. They are twice the team they were last year. Easily. Troy was on fire. I'm surprised he didn't get hurt sooner. lol We have Da Bears next week. See how many yards we get on the ground next week. The only thing I'm concerned about is the lack of depth at wide receiver. Even with that, Heath Miller was open all night long against the Titans. He could have had 200 yards if Ben needed to check off. |
Re: Steelers fans check in...
Great point about Big Ben's protection package. He had more time to throw and they'll find a way to get the run going. It sucks that Troy's hurt...he's definitely a game changer with his athleticism.

I think we're far deeper all over, but there is absolutely no substitute for the Polamalu factor. In all the years I have watched football (Dallas/Denver was the first superbowl I can remember, that was in 78), I can't think of any player who has ever singlehandedly changed the entire complexion of a ball game by stepping on the field. Maybe Tony Dorsett. God, I loved to watch him run the ball. But defensively, I cannot remember a player who was even remotely as talented. Maybe Greg Lloyd. He was insane. |
Re: Steelers fans check in...
Nope. Not even Greg Lloyd.
There's no one that ever changed the entire complexion of a game like Troy does. Period. |

Imagine if the two were on the field at the same time? I don't think most teams would even show up on Sunday. :r |
