have you used the 40mm on an APS-C body yet? Looking to see side by side of full frame vs APS-C FOV from same location.

Whats the minimum FD on it? wonder if I should just stick to my 50mm

Nope. I sold my 60D so no APS-C camera anymore. Once I take delivery I can get with my Co-worker and we can shoot from the same spot and I can show you the images.

I just looked up the min focus distance. For the 50mm it's 1.5' and for the 40mm it's .98'

So it would stand to reason that with the 40mm you can make the same object bigger on the frame.

correct. Ill charge the 5Dc tonight and give a whirl tomorrow with the nifty fifty to see how I like it for cigar pics while im smoking.

I was tempted to pick up a 50mm 1.8 (E rated) today for $50, with fungus.
I had been watching youthube videos on how to disassemble them in case I ever saw
a great deal on a simple lens with fungus or vapor or haze, thinking I could take it apart,
clean it and put it all back together and save a hundred bucks....but RIGHT above it was
a $52 lens in Very good conditon, and I thought, why bother? hehe. Plus I already
have a 50mm1.8. But you know how it is when you are camera shopping online, these
things make sense in some odd way.
