Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
That was Sweet Maria's. It was very tasty, but I still have memories of the Rwanda FT Dukunde Kawa Musasa from last season. That was one of the Best beans I have ever had.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
WOW! musta been good if you can remember from last season. The only long term memory I have of any coffee is Ethiopia IMV, best coffee EVER! Okay, I might recall a few others, but that one stands out.

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Just finished up what I had left of the Bolivian Beneficio Buenaventura Lot 45.
Tomorrow I plan on making some moka espresso with some El Salvador Majajual - Tablon La Montana. |
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Sumatra Tarbarita Peaberry at Full City.
Nice earthy, baking spice cup. |

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Colombia Guzman Micro, roasted 3 days ago to city+. I like it better at the darker roast. Hmmm, no surprise, I guess. Now, why did I do this lighter roast? :sl
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
New coffee! Sweet Maria's Shanga Babor SWP Decaf Blend :cf1 Roasted 24 hours ago to FC++, drip, dollop. Surprisingly mild and smooth for as dark as this roast came out. Nothing bad about it decaf wise. I like it.
I will defintely slow the roast and shoot for lighter the next time. It'll be a while, I have enough for 5 more half pots. |
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
New coffee! Brazil Cerrado Fazenda No-Name-O :cf1 Roasted 2 days ago two tone, city+-FC+, drip, dollop & splash. You know what I was going for and I nailed it, chocolate covered nuts! I'm hoping the chocolate comes a little more forward as the coffee rests, but it's plenty good right now. Both with 1/2&1/2 and 2%.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
El Salvador Majajual - Tablon La Montana. Roasted to light vienna on accident (still trying to dial in the popper roasting), but enjoy it very much. One of my favorites so far.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Two-tone Brazil, with 3, Excellent! Sweet and smooth and nutty, with good body and mouthfeel. I couldn't be happier with how this came out.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Glad to hear that one worked out for you. I have alot of fun blending different roast levels and different beans too.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Ethiopia DP Sidama Aleta Wando at Full City. Just an awesome cup! Amazing Blueberries.

Of the 4 different varieties I have had from S.M. only 1 of them has been "just ok" the others have been great. Love the blueberries.

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Ethiopia Harar OCFCU (Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union) American roast. It's got that berry/winey thing going on like the best Harar does. And it's fair Trade. Gotta like that.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Ethiopia Gedeo Worka :cf2 roasted 2 days ago to city+, drip, splash, then dollop, then a pinch of sugar  I confess! The coffee just wasn't doing it this morning, so I added just a pinch of sugar and BAM! :cf1 Like I poured cherry brandy into my cup, just AWESOME!
I've gotten the brandy before, but not from this coffee, from an ES Elida Natural, and this is even more pronounced. From Klatch and still available, I believe. |
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
El Savador Nazareth, from a local roaster.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Ethiopia GW, with 3, no sugar needed today, cherry, berries, hints of brandy, all there. Excellent cup! :cf1
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Ethiopia DP Sidama Aleta Wando at Full City. One of my Fav's
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Espresso Monkey Blend, this is the best smelling bean I have roasted. It drinks very well also. I recommend this blend. The only issue is it doesn't roast perfectly even but it still drinks well.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Making another press now! Really good!
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
I got a bag of Jamaican Blue Mountian brought back from Jamaica. I should grind some up soon.

The Ethiopia GW, with 4, is excellent. All the wonderful flavors, more body and richness. Good cup! :cf1 |
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
I am not pleased, when a SO doesn't roast even.
Almost all of that wonderful brandy flavor has diminished in the GW :( Still an excellent cup, but that brandy was very nice. Such a rare treat. And it was rum, not brandy in the ES Elida natural, which was a very rare treat. Might have to roast up a batch of that next. Just roasted yesterday, so Sun. |
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
New coffee! Costa Rica Finca Bella Vista :cf2 roasted 2 days ago to FC, drip, dollop and splash. A very nice, bright, complex cup. Some rindy citrus, nice sweetness, tea and jasmine notes. A very good cup, I think I prefer this one with the splash of 2% :cf1 from SM

Drinking a dunkin iced mocha because I didn't have time to make any this morning. Its pretty disgusting.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
CR Finca BV, with 3, excellent :cf1 Crazy thing about this coffee, there is a very strong nutty dry aroma, there is no nuttiness at all, in the cup.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
A free cup from the D-fac. Its one of the best cups i have had in a while. I have been stuck in BMT where i only got to smell coffee. so its nice to be able to sit down and have a cup.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
CR FBV, with 4, the best of the 3 days. More sweetness, less rind in the citrus. This is a really good cup :cf1
New coffee tomorrow :D |
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Still drinking the India Poabs Organic Seethargundu Estate. So far it has been one of my least favorites. I kind of overroasted it slightly, so next batch I will try something closer to full city.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Ethiopian Harrar this morning via french press!
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Having some Kenya Nyeri Ngunguru I roasted to Full City+ on Saturday. Very nice. I really enjoy this one.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Had another cup of Espresso Monkey Blend this morning, one of my favorites so far.
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Are you making Espresso out of it or coffee press?

That my understanding, LOL. I dont have one either. But I love my press. I will have to give that blend a try.

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
New coffee! Colombia Tolima - Einar Ortiz Microlot :cf1 Roasted 2 days ago to FC, drip, dollop. An excellent cup with great balance between bright and body, nice, lemony citrus, honey sweetness. I like this a LOT! 1 pound limit at SM, highly recommended!
This one is seriously better with 1/2&1/2 than 2%, go figure. |
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Papua New Guinea Baroida Estate at Full City+ w/ 3 days on it.
Very Tasty. This one is always so consistant. Thats why I got 10 lbs of it from my last 2 orders LOL. Nice Cinnomin and Nutmeg with hints of Pear and light citrus. |

Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Its actually a very good base to blend other beans with (it plays well with others). Especially the juicy, fruity varieties (El Salvador, Costa Rica etc.)
|
Re: COFFEE: What are you drinking?
Trying out my new Lattissima+
Too much foam but I'll get it down :) http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...X/2e8ac85c.jpg |
