Man this team can be very frustrating

Re: Red's Fans Check in

They just can't seem to get everything rolling at the same time. I still don't like the bullpen, they are absolutely great at putting runners on and giving up runs for each other. :td

It is a long year. Don't give up hope yet. Lets just hope they are off to a slow start and will start to pickup soon.

Re: Red's Fans Check in

We don't have any MLB caliber position players but Rolen, Votto, and BP. The rest are minor leaguers (OCab has gone too far downhill). Pitching sucks this year, except for Leake, and he's not established yet either.

At least the suspension starts tomorrow. It is not like he was going to pitch until late summer, if at all this year.

Seriously, I didn't see the runs for the comeback, but Homer Bailey needs to take his ass back to Louisville. :td

He left with the score 9-5. Ondersuck and mASSet gave up the rest. Bailey should have gotten our Starting Pitchings first win of the season, but the bullpen managed to screw that up. You know it's bad when Lincoln has to come in to get two outs for the team.

We can't continue to do this.....it's a W yes but not good, just not good. The bullpen HAS to get better!

:tpd:
Bailey deserved to get that W, but sadly it was taken from him.

Pitching is decent, our bats can't hit.
Pitching sucks, our bats wake up.
We need both to look good, not one or the other. Cincy needs to get it together.

True, but this type of win isn't what will make us consistent.

Our pitching was a little off last night. At least we are hitting now.

A little off? I wish they would let DHR face more batters. He only comes in to face one or two batters a night. I'd like to see him work a bit more. And start using Owings over Ondrusuck and mASSett.

Our bats woke up last night, but who knows if that is the start of something new or just a one hit wonder.

Dan, I need some of your confidence in this team.:tu

Who is DHR? I don't like Ondrusek. It was cool last night at The Beer Sellar (they had a cigar event) which is right across the river from the stadium. The fireworks were going off a few times b/c of the Red's home runs :tu

EDIT: Do you mean Daniel Ray Herrera?

Re: Red's Fans Check in

Their pitching staff in general sucked ass yesterday. They got saved by the bats. This team is definitely going to deliver a lot of headaches this year. :bh

I have tickets for my wife's birthday against the Padres on Saturday but it looks like weather might prevent the whole thing from ever happening. :(

Harang blows another one...:hn
Time to move him to the bullpen like Zambrano.

Starscream 04-21-2010 08:53 PM

Re: Red's Fans Check in

Harang FUGGIN' SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

ondruSUCK & mASSett, SUCK!!!!

It's sad when Lincoln is your best option in the pen. Harang needs to follow Zambrano and be the new setup man along with Owings. ondruSUCK and mASSett need to go down to Triple A or below. Bring up Wood until Chapman hits arbitration, put DRH and Rhodes in for longer periods of time (not to just face one or two batters a night) and pray that Cordero can bring some saves.

Our offense is waking up (we now have two starters with a +.300 avg.), but pitching is fuggin' HORRIBLE!!! WAKE UP DUSTY! WAKE UP JOCKETTY!

i miss marge schott.

Like trading all their prospects for real players, their prospects are never as good as the hype. See: Bailey and Bruce. :tu

Bailey I def agree with. Bruce will be fine. He's just starting to hit the ball, he was making good contact in the earlier games but was just hitting it right at people.

I haven't given up on Bailey or Bruce yet, but this has to be the year that they prove themselves or it's over.

Congrats to Mike Leake, the rookie and only starting pitcher this year to get a win for the Reds! It only took what, 13 games for a starting pitcher on our team to get a win?

Good day for baseball, bad day for the Reds. It turned out to be a nice day at the ballpark, but the Reds suck something fierce. About 10 rows back on the third base line, prime foul ball territory, but the Reds couldn't even make contact half the time. :td

Nice win yesterday, good to see the other teams bullpen blow a lead instead of the Reds. Only 2.5 games back, well one game out of the cellar atleast. As bad as the division looks so far maybe the Reds have a shot to finish in the top 3. :tu

Why hasn't Dusty sent Bruce back to Triple A? Why is Gomes in left when he gives no effort to catch fly balls? Why does Stubbs bat lead off with an under .200 batting average? Why don't the Reds have any fundamentals like knowing how many outs there are in the game? Why do the Reds do anything? :bh
