Love my SIG938 for a carry gun.

Light, tiny, 9mm and not a bad recoil impulse at all.

But get the shield in 9 or 40, that's the question.

I am going to get the Shield in 9mm.

less poppy than the 40. and i mean that in a good way. lol

Ok. Shield in 9mm or Walther PPS in 9mm. I'm gonna go with 9mm due to the extra round mag capacity vs 40.

M&P Shield in 9mm is my summer carry.
Winter, I can carry whatever, but typically (currently) is my CZ 75D PCR. It's kinda heavy but it's an awesome shooter.

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Winter time I carry a Glock 23. Great feel in the hand and it holds 13 rounds of 40S&W
Summer carry is an XDS 9mm with a versa carry holster. It works very well at the conceal part, but it's kind of uncomfortable if you wear it for a long time. So I guess I'm in the market for a good CCW holster for side or kidney carry for my Glock and XDS. Any suggestions?

Well put the M&P Shield on layaway. I'll pick it up next Friday (payday)

Decided on 40 instead of 9. Mainly for caliber consolidation.

dijit 10-18-2014 06:07 AM

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Consolidation or not I think you made the correct choice. Then again who the hell am I?

Congrats on the new purchase! Been very happy with my shield in 9mm. Carry it daily. And even though it's fairly small, it's still fun to use at the range.

My FIL has one. He loves it, I love it. One day I will own one. Ammo isn't cheap, but not super pricey either. Ballistics comparable to 7.62x39. They make good deer guns.

My uncle hunted with a 30-30 when I was a kid. I use a Remington Woodsmaster 30.06 I got from my grandpa.
I wish I still had a place to hunt, let alone the time. I love shooting my deer rifle.

Talking to a store here about a 30-40 lever action Remington. I would like to gt the Henry in the same but the $300 price difference is killing me.

Once in a while you kids need to see something that ain't black & plastic. Broaden your horizons a bit.

This is a '52 S&W Baby Chief. Made the same year I was. ;)

Took it out and shot it a couple days ago. It's a sweet shooter.

Heading to the range tomorrow. Ready with about 500 rounds of 9mm, 250 shotgun shells and a couple of cases of clays.

Gotta make the most of the time I have when I'm not in the city!
