Tebow's back up, John Brantley, is a dang good quarterback. He's got a cannon, throws a beautiful ball and can run a little if need be. Brantley's no Tebow runner for sure but he's better than Chris Leak. I still think FL is favored to win, albeit only by like 3, if Brantley starts. The key would be our receiving corp. :banger |
Re: Official SEC Football Thread 2009
I believe FL will win it mainly because you can't show up late against an offense like theirs you will be too far behind

Re: Official SEC Football Thread 2009
Pretty good observation. A slow start by LSU won't be enough to get the job done. BUT, I am having fun right now, because every mouth on the air is
dogging LSU as about to fall, about to be exposed etc. Don't they remember that for the last 8 years, LSU has done only enough to get the job done? LSU 28-FLA 24:D |

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy, but I would settle for a Gator win. :)

Re: Official SEC Football Thread 2009
If I were an LSU fan, I would rather see Tebow play. I would want to go undefeated knowing the team beat the best, not that Tebow being out was a big factor. But, that's me. I figure to be the best, you gotta beat the best.

Re: Official SEC Football Thread 2009
Imagine if Ole Miss had beat South Carolina. We'd have 2 Top 5 sec matchups in the same weekend (#1 vs #5 and #3 vs #4)! Bet it would have been the first time that ever happened in any conference.

BUT, let me remind ALL of the FLA faithful, that if you put Tebow in the game, we ARE going to take him OUT of the game. I do not mean this in a 'gunnin for tebow' mindset, I mean that a concussion is a serious thing, and sports coaches and trainers have LONG been known for putting players in games they should not be in, given what we know about the brain today. And there is no way in hell the Tigers are going to treat him like some kind of tender baby that needs to some extra deference. He is going to go down on his a$$ and stay there if we can get to him and hit him, like any QB on any team. And on the subject of a win 'the right way', I tend to agree, but there will be no asterisk by this game in the record books if Florida fields an 'inferior QB' and LSU wins. Teams play teams, not scenarios or wish lists. ALL That said, LSU has a tough challenge ahead. NO turnovers, a decent running attack, and WHOEVER the QB is, we need to hit him, get him rattled and KEEP him rattled. We need to keep the score low and manageable. Our chances are lower than 50-50. |
