Picked this up yesterday. Never had any of their offerings before, but it was a barrel selection by the owner of my B&M, and I've never had a single of his selects that wasn't delicious.

Sometimes that's all the information you need. :tu

Let us now how it is, James.

Good day today. First two at MSRP at Binny's, and the latter about $15 above MSRP from a fellow enthusiast.

Love the Hancock for a first pour, cool looking bottle to have around as well

Had some fingerlakes stuff last night, sweet and chocolaty, reminded me of the candy sweetness that can come from toasted barrel finishes but not overpoweringly sweet

Man, the 89 proof just isn't doing it for me, Ben, even with the good flavor of BT mashbill #1. I think I've totally ruined myself for anything under 100 proof.

Agreed, but it's a good warmup

Picking up a 15 year KY bourbon today, same mystery as the rest of the latest 15 year KY bourbons but this one is barrel proof at only 102, should be interesting

Yeah, I'm that guy who goes straight to the heavy sets. ;) :r

Curious to hear more about the 15 year when you crack it.

One of my favorite "every day" pours, Gabe, hope you like it as much as I do. In fact, I cracked a new bottle last night as well for my first of two pours.

Curious to hear how you like the Woodford Double Oaked, Rob. I do single oaked. It's like foreplay....who has time. I do one, maybe two plays a most. :D

Cracked a different Old Haymarket from the group picks last night, the Single Barrel at 114 proof. I thought the 120 proof blend of all the barrels we picked was good, but this blows it out of the water. Wish I had known, I would have grabbed two of these.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

:tf I am NOT one for reviews but for my hockey buddy I'll try and relate my thoughts

ok took a small pour (is that right ? ) last night and added a drop of water.

On the first sip I immediately wanted a cigar but alas I didn't have the time to sit and enjoy one (the nut house was in full swing )

One of the big differences in rum ( my usual) and Bourbon for me to get used to is the warm feeling ( kinda like when I land at O'hare for a big weekend) :tu

I kinda thought the taste made me think of smoked meats. As I sipped it smoothed out for me and I enjoyed it more and more.

I do want to have some with a stogie and then really enjoy it. Not bad I think I liked the Elijah Craig better but I did have a cigar with that one.

That's all I got

Rob :llp
