...and obviously, I'm very disappointed at the fall the Wild have had over the last month. But they've got a lot of young guys and some talented draftees that should be able to make BIG impacts over the next few years when they finally sign and start wearing the sweater.

Stunned Sharks got a point. Nemo was horrible in net. New they would fail in shootout. Atleast they got a point

Agreed. Niemi looked "off" from the drop of the puck. Must have been 5+ shots that hit him, dropped to the ice and just sat there at his knees, and he had no idea where it was.
Played too deep in the net too. Not like him, he usually challenges more. He just left too many angles open.
Glad to see Thorton and Marleau clickin'.

Well...I'm glad the Sharks didn't get 2 pts out of it. :p

Didn't watch the game, though...the Wolves game was on.

I had to Google that one. I had never heard that story before. While playing for the Wings he lived in my mom's subdivision. His neice went to my highschool. I met him once taking my younger siblings trick-or-treating. He was walking around with his kids or neices/nephews I forget which. He was very nice considering the large number of people approaching him. Neighbors had told me he would play hockey with neighbor kids on the pond behind his house.

Around the time he retired he moved 8-10 miles north into Washington Township. That house is huge and set back from the road so you can't see it. Large walls, big gate at the road, etc. From my experience I never would have guessed he'd pulled some crap like that.

I can't wait. Wings won last night in a shootout. I watched all but the last 10 min and OT. I have to catch the OT/SO highlights. I heard Z put on a show with his goal.

The NHL has all but finalized details to hold next year's Winter Classic between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, while continuing negotiations for a second outdoor rink in downtown Detroit where all ancillary events would be held, a source told ESPN.com Friday.

The league would like to have the matter settled by the All-Star break in late January, according to the source.

The Jan. 1 game between the Original Six rivals would be played at the University of Michigan's "Big House," which, at 110,000-plus seats, is the largest college football stadium in the country. Ann Arbor is about 43 miles west of Detroit.

I am guessing Emery gets the start because of back-to-back, but Crawford was stellar today.

Should be a great game, I will be in front of the big screen with a cigar and an adult beverage, Mike. Let's Go Hawks!

Big Hawks win tonight. Besides a 30 second stretch in the 2nd (2 goals against), the dominated all the battles tonight.

Mike, better off that you were with the little man, you might have thrown a puck at your TV.

The NHL actually gave the goal to Toews, he tipped it in, Mike. And if anybody stole a point from the Wings Saturday, it was Corey Crawford. ;)

That's true. The first period especially. I think the shots were 22-4.

The Hawks were the better club for sure. Caught parts of the game here and there. Not a good outing for sure. I think Sharks had a little more then 30 seconds of good play though. ;)

Highlight for me yesterday was watching the boy get 2 goals and an assist in the championship game. :tu. Not bad for a kid playing up a age division.

The B's are in a malaise,no compete, mistakes all over the place especially in the back end,Thomas has not looked good.
On the bright side Marchands suspension in over that should infuse some energy and unscramble three lines.
I'm still looking for a trade got to upgrade the D.

Koivu is out, right?

Hawks play the Sabres tonight, I am guessing Buffalo will start Enroth as Ryan Miller looks like his days are numbered. If he didn't have such a huge contract, I am guessing the Sabres would move him before the deadline.

Yup. He's out. Last I heard, it was supposed to be a month or more.

Bouchard and Latendresse are still out, as well, and they've been playing musical goalies with injuries and other things that Backstrom and Harding have been dealing with, and there have been several other players in and out of the lineup that have been expected to contribute heavily this year.

The Wild rode the percentages for a while (as well as crazy good goaltending) and it was a matter of time before they came back down to earth. Injuries are hurting them for sure but they are barely a 8-10th place team in the Western Con. in the best of times.
